I was unaware that this was a problem until I came to these forums.
Is there a definitive way to determine if you are playing with bots? Or, is this just something people suspect?
if you see my name on the scorebord, you are playing with one atleast.
Bots don’t use anything but rifles.
Any tanks, airplanes, snipers, machinegunners, engineers, assaulters, mortar men, etc. Are players.
Anybody on the scoreboard with vehicle kills or engineer points are players.
Just use ingame friends search and you’ll find out.
This is an awesome tip, thanks!
Two weeks old experience, may have changed since: when the entire squad is stuck not being able to leave a building and keep walking against the wall or sandbags, that’s quite obvious. There are also typical paths they follow on certain maps, or fail to stop long enough to capture a point if you intervene (e.g. hide with two or three of your soldiers slowing their capture, they just leave at 90% captured without reason). And if the entire squad moonwalks in the open field shooting the enemy in the distance, or when they enter into fire fight with you but if you hide for 3 seconds they forget that you were there (ok, some of it is hard to distinguish whether it’s only the bot part of a squad or full-AI squad). A normal player jumps/runs/goes prone/tries to get to cover mostly and do small left-right movements to make it harder to target.
More experienced players may correct me.
Not definitive way: if there are a lot of early quitters and thus the list of players is much longer than normally, that’s a quite good sign. Then follow the suggestion from @22408305 after a printscreen of the scoreboard, and you’ll get the definitive answer.
Press Options and view players in session, I thought that worked?
I don’t have any in-game friends. Does that mean I am a bot?
Maybe not.
vs.
You mean the scoreboard also accessible with TAB?
Awesome example. Thanks!
Can you bring that search menu up in game? Or only from the main menu?
I could do that from main menu only, after end of match.
Nope. Bots in their first few lives use a variety of weapons. Even sometimes has weapons that player dosent have.
This game’s vehicle kill registration is a myth. It can accidentally registered to a bot.
When the match start, watch scoreboard. Bots will fill in every 5s. Anyone comes in with grey and get in not in 5s interval are human. Except human leaves and automatic fill in a bot for compensate.
Just drop a racial slur in chat and if nobody reacts or outs you on the forums, it’s full of bots.
Does not necessarily work, was teamkilled and guy apologized with cyrillic characters and did not react to English. So needs to be multilingual racism.
You’re talking about edge cases that almost never happen though. Bots replace players who’ve left and therefore use one of their weapons for a minute. Bots may accidentally somehow get credit for a tank dying. 99% of the time you are not going to see that
Oh yeah, had one battle where I dropped “blyat” in the chat, someone echoed “cheki breki” and another responded “iv damke” in cryllic
And this was in CBT Moscow where Russia was typically bot teams
We need to able to tell who a bot. There has been a couple times I suspe ted I was the pnly human players. I typed in “say hi if your human” and gotten zilch. I will most likely start adding people i see communicate in gane as friends and try to have at keast on verifiable human
Not a conclusive test. I did not know how to chat in the first… 40 hours?
