Do I really need to switch through every soldier to make sure they all open their parachutes?
When I don’t do this usually 50-75% of my squad is dead on arrival.
I never had problems with AI in this matter.
For me AI always open parachute
Same.
I am the only one dead on the landing.
You need open the parachute wen the crate do it
If you are dropping on objective ±250m is ideal height for opening your parachute for fast rush, but you’ll get hurt a little bit. It always worked for me.
Break an ankle or stay in the air long enough to get sniped.
I always have to make a decision.
I swear that either paratroopers somehow fall twice as fast as bailed pilots, or they take wayyy more time to slow down.
I fly often and when I bail, my pilot reliably lands without injuries after opening the parachute at heights that would have got me stuck 3m underground if I were a paratrooper.
I just got an idea.
Can you remove some equipment from paras and then test the slowdown speed when jumping?
I know what you mean, but my pilots are actually HEAVIER than paras, since they already carry their secondary weapon when jumping.
Strange. Remember another fellow forum member having this exact problem.
All of my AI almost 99 % survives the jump (unless they getting shot/blown up of course).
So it sounds like a bug. Do you/your AI survives in practice mode?
Anyway my experience/calculations says that 260-ish meters is the sweet spot. If you land on a higher level (rooftop or whatever) you need to opening your parachute a bit earlier.
If you find the sweet spot you will drop ahead of everyone else in your squad and the supply box.
…yeah, so watch out. It can kill you, lmao.
Never had any problem with AI failing to open 'chutes
