How to make AI more like people?
First: Don’t let them turn 180 degrees at once
Second, they cannot find the enemy behind them, nor can they see people through bushes or other obstacles
Third, improve AI pathfinding, so that they will not be stuck by obstacles or waters
Fourth, give AI memory: I mean, when you move from the enemy AI’s line of sight to the back of the bunker, they should not immediately move their eyes, but “remember” your position, and they will look at the bunker from time to time to see if you are still there
Fifth, improve the team command: we can let the AI find and move to bunkers by themselves, or dig trenches with us, or fire in one direction to suppress, or use binoculars to scout and mark the enemy, or the anti tank player uses panzerfaust (instead of explosives) to attack Tanker, or the medical team can find the wounded and treat them, etc
The last thing is to increase their hit rate, while reducing their visual range (depending on the weapons used, for example, soldiers with sniper guns will have a longer view) and firing frequency.
That is Because a real rifleman/sniper always tends to kill the enemy with one shot, and then hide himself, rather than shooting a lot of bullets that cannot hit anyone to expose his position (unless he is a soldier responsible for the suppression task below);
Let the ai gunners/commandos undertake the task of fire suppression! Let them shoot more frequently than riflemen, have a closer view, and improve the tendency of machine gunners to prone!
I even hope they can have a historical and real AI formation, such as the configuration of the German machine gun team: “The squad leader stands next to the machine gunner, holds a telescope to command the direction of shooting, and gives orders to the riflemen, or shield shooting, or attack, or retreat. If it is an offensive operation, the riflemen follow the machine gun to shoot, and move forward while shooting.”
