Honestly, I can’t believe I have to spell this out. This has been tested and proven in other games countless times.
As a rule of thumb, you do not change the terms of the event/challenge when the event/challenge is already underway.
I can’t believe people who skipped the first 2 days in the Victory Day event (as was allowed according to the announcement) got screwed completely.
Events are much better when they are a) non-linear, b) can be completed in convenient time frames, c) can be completed simultaneously.
As you can see in the headed image from BFV, you almost always have a choice of which route to take:
don’t have flamethrowers unlocked? hate flying? - no problem, pick the other route (not easier, just alternative);
can’t play this weekend but will have a full day off soon? - cool, these are tasks for the whole week, complete them when you prefer;
want to complete two challenges simultaneously (e.g. semi-auto kills and engineer points) - sure, go for it and try;
just needed 1 more frag to move onto the next challenge? - of course, you can complete multiple challenges in the same game one after the other if you’re lucky;
completed all “main” challenges and want some extra? - we got you, there is a bonus “dead end” challenge which is not mandatory but can get you something nice;
want to track your progress ingame to know how far you’ve progressed in the challenge? - obviously, the UI shows you the challenge status.
I know this must look like rocket science to people who confuse 8 with 10 and then offer the players to pay for the mistake to be fixed, but a man can dream.
the enlisted events are fine, if you want some real horrible events then look at war thunders crafting events and tasks events (hint you can’t even everything in those) or wargaming’s dockyard events where you need to pay actual cash to finish and get the main selling point of the event. Also I wouldn’t really call the BFV as “events” due to them being completely weekly
How is it fine to do a 8 to 10 days switcharoo and not have anything from what I listed in (2)?
Why would a player who doesn’t have flamethrowers unlocked be totally ineligible to play the event?
Just because WT/WoT events are reportedly horrible, that doesn’t mean Enlisted’s bad events are fine.
Victory Day event just lasted for 10 days, which is very comparable to 7 days weekly BFV challenges.
I’m not saying challenges/events should be easier, just flexible and comfortable to complete.
i assume this is your first event since the other 2 are actually pretty good
what if they always intended for it to be 10 days but didn’t proof read because they were in too much of rush or because they are slavs
level 6 on normandy has flamethrowers, if a newbie can’t reach that in a day then it’s literally a them issue there is also allow friends to finish off enemies with flamethrowers too since all that matters is if you down them.
Operation summer and fiery november were actually really fucking good which.
and the weekly challenges aren’t events because they are common place as they happen every single week
No, I have been playing them all since OBT and they all have been subpar.
I am a slav too but it doesn’t make me shift the consequences caused by my mistake onto those whom I promised something.
All in all, I don’t see how anything I’ve listed would hurt Enlisted (pun intended).
And also how it’s okay to accept that missing 1 day due to any real-life stuff automatically disqualifies you from getting the untimate prize.
Most of the meaningful comments come from Battlefield players or mainly first-person shooter players. WT doesn’t have much in common with Enlisted except for the financier.
Battlefield has been almost perfect in the last 15 years.
Battlefield 1942, Bad Company2, BATTLEFIELD3, BF1 and BF5 was good
I think in the time many WoT and WT have gambled here which is a real pity and harms the game. as mentioned they are happy with shit
you mean like adding lone fighters? oh right…that was a dead game mode that was put in because of BF and COD kids…
and the models and the coding hell even the engine is the same with some theorizing that DF is just a shell company for gaijin
my guy BFV is pretty bad especially in the PC port
ironic consider the COD and BF series have been constantly in the shitter but are still successful because they have a massive fan base oh btw there are people that are calling BF2042 good.
Please tell me this is just bait . I refuse to believe that someone consciously strung those words together to make that sentence under their own freewill.
Your suggestion would definetely add more flexibility to the game. BUT: the difference between the weekly challenge of BFV and Enlisted: Enlisted is f2p. So what do I mean?
Yes, they do linear events on purpose, because once you cant play for whatever reason, a lot of people just buy the progression for some cash. To give you an alternative would mean, people wouldnt buy progression, they would stick with the lesser evil.
Dont get me wrong, I love your proposition and I would love to see it in the game but unfortunately I believe that they will stick with this kind of events.
Good point.
My interest for the game often makes me forget the project itself is F2P, i.e. designed to frustrate and sell solutions to inconveniences.
It’s most likely not that they don’t know how to do it right, they know exactly how to make you slip and pay.
Which is a shame because I’d gladly pay a one-time full title price from the start and be done with all this BS.
look at the event medals I’m sure this Mode is returning
nothing to shine, really not
Yep these Guys are also play Enlisted cause of Gajin
Hey Dude I think BF1 was no longer a Battlefield but quite good, BF5 was a number worse but for long no equality to 2042 and at least fighting against Bots was better then in Enlisted. (talking about BF5)
from which orc hole did you crawl? No that’s my opinion and you have to accept it.
if you can’t argue anything meaningful, just be quiet.
No real argument with anything you’ve said, but you have to recognize the completely unexpected genius that was Battlefield 2142…that game stole a lot of hours of my life…and it is still sorely missed by many.
