Surely everyone has met a player who wasted reserve points by making a suicide attack with an airplane, often unsuccessfully.
Here is my solution to this problem. The counter of the player’s remaining machines, which would decrease each time the player crashed their machine, and would not be shot down.
Of course, someone could simply misplan the maneuver and crash, but the counter would drop anyway. And the limit in such a situation would be 5 machines, regardless of whether it’s a player who has 5 different planes in the battle or who has only one and whether he is defending or attacking.
Only I would keep the kamikaze option for the Japanese, but in such a way that I would add “Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka” to the game that would not decrease the counter.
Actually in many (if not most) cases it’s deliberate.
Spawn in a plane, drop bombs to kill your target (probably a tank), suicide, respawn as infantry and continue to play “normally”.
It’s just a tactic that works well enough to use it.
Annoying, stupid and kind of unfair but hey, meta shitters will do everything for a 1% gain.
Well, he’ll have five tries. I myself am a golden player because I play once since closed beta two that I can afford to spend 25-50 euros on the game every month. But a player who has three planes in the battle and the whole battle spams kamikaze attacks, is a nuisance and worse when on the attacking team and only wastes points.
you will get used to it. Its from warthunder. All they want is the revenge, cant fly. so they fly straight into target. Also I suppose you have to learn somehow.
I think it might be better to just give plane users another way to respawn instead of being killed. Forexample land planes successfully or fly out of the warzone(further then spawn point) can respawn as another squad for free. While survive after plane crashed can respawn only taking half of the reserve points.
Or simply need certain score to spawn a plane. You know like WT
How about just get rid of tanks? At a minimum, get rid of the grayzone.
If you’re going to limit airplanes I’d limit tanks as well. 2 or 3 per player should be more than enough.
FWIW, I don’t think there should be any change in this area but if you’re going to touch airplanes then tanks need to be affected too.
The option that the plane after entering the replenishment point would return to the airport, and the player would have to change the squad for the time. And he wouldn’t lose reserve points, and at the same time an experienced player pilot who can fly the entire battle with one plane and direct the game while making 10-12k points could simply change the P-47 to another P-47 and so the whole battle. It wouldn’t change anything because you’d just be harassed by a different plane every now and then. And after catapulting, it seems to me that it is good as it is that the pilot goes on foot to fight.
I like the idea with the exception of this part:
I don’t think their should be exceptions to the rule. I think it could help quite substantially actually.
As far as aircraft, a successful landing should not count against the number either.
NO. That wouldn’t be good for this game. Because then you lose the opportunity to break the enemy’s position or push him back because no one can afford to deploy a plane that can effectively clear the foreground. Very often, you can’t get a hangar on the airport map and everyone is dropping like flies, enemies have 500-800-1000 points and you have 100 points in your team, or the guy who only placed a rally will have 700, but there is no plane, and if you fly over the tree line from the flank you can send a volley of missiles via rocket mail inside the hangar and clear the way to the point, and if you’re really good you can throw bombs inside. As long as you have a plane.
Well, if you land a damaged plane somewhere in the field or in the water, it should be considered lost anyway. Well, only if you land at the airport damaged, you know they’ll fix it.
Although if they gave instead of airport replenishment points that you would have to land every time to replenish ammunition, that would be cool too.
I don’t think it should be necessary to land to REARM, unless they crank the power of planes up a lot, which I don’t forsee them doing.
Safely landing a plane already gives a nice little point bonus and let’s you get them back quicker, so I really think adding this would encourage players to try to safely land in general more.
What is to determine then if the player is “shot down” or if he takes damage and Kamikazis then?
How about time the plane’s survival time? I mean if some one fly long enough and crushed because of a mistaken maneuver or because need to avoid enemy. This situation should be ok to consider them as good.
If you crash as a result of an evasive manoeuvre, you did a bad manoeuvre. So you made a critical mistake.
I mean I only agree to give punishments on kamikaze players and bad pliots that crush the plane. But if someone need to crush the plane so they can respawn as infantry and save the game then should he be punished?
If your plane takes damage from enemy fire then kamikaze is justifiable. You know, the pilot prefers to do kamikaze rather than return to the base and get a penalty for damaging the machine. You can’t explain to your superiors.
It’s good that players get points for landing safely or reaching the replenishment point. Less for reaching the point and more for landing on an aircraft carrier/airport. And bonuses for landing a damaged plane.
Well, in this case, it should be possible to retreat by plane (outside the battlefield) and then change the team. Something like abandoning a vehicle in WT, but here you wouldn’t abandon it, just the plane would automatically follow the map, and you could change the squad at the same time, the enemy would still have a short opportunity to shoot down such an aircraft to, for example, take away some reserve points from the attackers.
This. People get mad at the IS, KV, or Tiger that’s eating their ass for breakfast AND lunch and decide they’re gonna be Freddy Limpdick and suicide bomb you in a Ju87 or IL2. No way to stop that aside from the extended spawn timer already in the game that kicks in if you die in a plane in under a minute.
Tiger, IS, KV are just tanks. There are two ways without wasting points.
-
hand grenades or mortar grenades, or artillery smoke. The tank in the smoke is completely blind. Standing somewhere far beyond the area of effect is also smoke. Smoke will cover your soldiers as well as other players while moving.
-
anti-tank weapons. Miny is known, but even if your opponent is a behemoth, try to destroy his cannon, either with a field cannon or an anti-tank rifle.
A cheeky player will approach your tank with an engineer and cover it with Czech hedgehogs and wait for the crew to start leaving…
Oh I know exactly how to take them out without resorting to War Thunder tactics. A lot of people in the playerbase tho… just wanna take a hammer and destroy their console/pc whenever they decide to kamikaze.
