So that I could hold ctrl, crouch while holding, then leave the button and I would automatically start going normally? Because in most situations I need to crouch for a few seconds, and then toggling is pretty annoying. Another question about tanks - I want to change the way how it turns combined with forwards/backwards keys. Right now if I go forwards and want to turn left, I hold W and A. Then I accidentally drive into an obstacle and want to go backwards and still left, but then I need to hold S and D which is quite strange. Is it possible to change settings so that I could keep holding A and just change W to S?
go to the settings in the top right corner (3 dots / lines), open the controls, go to movement (at the top),
select the key for crouch (only click it once - no double click!) then click on the ‘button setup’ button at the bottom right of the window.
in the next window you will see several options (actions) on how the button should work - i guess ‘on hold’ should be the right option for you (haven’t tested it though ^^)
Thanks for the answer. You haven’t tested, but I have before I asked my question, and it works in a different way. If you set it “on hold”, then you will crouch only after you hold ctrl. And to stop crouching you still have to hold ctrl, which is even more disgusting than just toggling by a single press. Well, probably there is no way to change the way of toggle to a way of holding. Another disgsting thing about controls is that you can’t just hold W and S to speed up or slow down your plane like you can in War Thunder. You hit W once, your engine gets 5%, hit 2nd time, its 10%, and so you have to press W 20(!) times to speed up or slow down your engine from 0 to 100% and back. The alternative is a mouse wheel, but its also uncomfortable. Why couldn’t they just make it as they did in War Thunder? Disgusting flap controls - you have to select 2 different buttons to enable and disable flaps. I’ve tried to make “press f” to open flaps and “hold f” to remove flaps, but holding f doesn’t work. So it really needs 2 different keys, while in War Thunder you just press f to open flaps, press f again to change flap type, then f to close flaps, everything is cool and clear. Really strange to see how the same devs made the worst plane controls in Enlisted, while they have the best plane controls in War Thunder. I hope that these are just beta test issues and control system will become easier and more personally adjustable, then plane control would be like in War Thunder and infantry control would be like in csgo (tho toggling to prone is cool as it is).
I can confirm, “on hold” doesn’t work the way you would think. Would be nice if the devs changed this so that “on hold” meant you’re crouching only when ctrl is held down, it’s a lot more convenient for me as well.
