With my engineers in an MG squad, I can build a HMG nest. However, it seems like there are also LMG nests in the game. How do you build those? Am I missing something? Thanks.
You need to level up engineers II squad for classic MG nest (or use any premium squad with engineer).

Paratroopers squad with mortarman loadout can build lmg nest by engineer too

Some premium squads too can build MG nest.
Because they were not versatile enough.
I swear DF, idea of universal soldiers will bite you in the ass.
