W/S is the only way to brake unfortunately Gaijin didn’t think to give a separate keybind to brake.

on controller that would be L3 up L3 down

it’s not really that big a deal it’s just unfortunate
Braking tanks in this game can be a bitch to do where sometimes had to brute force with S key just to stop the tank from moving especially on rough terrain. A handbrake button for tanks would be nice.

having the tank upgraded + the break perk on the driver works wonders stopping the tank right away.
Not always.
I have a fully upgraded Pz III J, 50% brake perk on driver and on the slightest incline making minor movements forwards and backwards is ridiculously difficult because I almost always continue to roll.
I’m not suggesting that the perks and upgrades don’t help but something seems off when it comes to brakes.
that’s shame, i can assure you that all the times that i die because i couldn’t stabilize the tank in time results in rage quit.
