you can reach 100 without using vehicles.
everything depends of how long the match is
usually they dont last long
but all those people with 200+ enemies
they used vehicles.
a good tank in a good spot camping nuking the point
although as i said depends of the enemies
and teammates too ,

for those 242 kills I only used a plane for a short while and basically did nothing lul

ok then but it depends on enemy and teammates to make the match last.
well yes… your teammates need to suck so that they dont steal your kills and enemies need to be strong enough to make match last, but not too strong so that they overwhelm you and your team. sadly often you either get your team stacked with veterans so you roflstomp enemy or you get braindead team and enemy has veterans so they roflstomp you.
