How is this a submachine gun if it is only semi-auto? Submachine Guns are supposed to do both.

it says submachine gun. either they should fix this or something. What do we even classify as a Sub Machine gun or an assault rifle? and assault rifles aren’t even a thing, it’s in reality just a rifle with automatic modes. so that means the AVT-40 could be an assault rifle. I will just blame this mess up of guns classes on the gunsmiths throughout history who put everything in this mess.

Or - The browning 1919 aganaist another mg34 in normandy
Or - Ultra nerfed Thompson aganaist stg44 always in normandy
Or my favorite - crap ww1 mg15 vs rpd in berlin
Dont mind this gun and stick with the mp35

You are glad that there is no jam mechanic in the game anymore. This weapon was born out of need, not strategy. This is a carbine of the Volskszturm, i.e. the mass levy in the Third Reich.
? VG is clearly an elite gun. That is why it’s class locked.
A levy gun is for example FG42 that is avalable to every soldier.

So elitist that for 50 years of the existence of computer games, avoid like the plague any such inventions. The magnificence and power of the Third Reich industry is an invention of post-war pop culture. Because how will you explain to your grandchildren that the Germans conquered half of Europe in two years? You can’t say that most countries slept with their hand in the potty.

That’s because it is not a SMG. The game probably classifies it as a SMG because it fires an intermediate cartridge that’s between a pistol round and a full rifle cartridge. It did (and in the game does) use the STG-44 magazine but could not/does not fire fully automatic like the STG-44. And some SMGs cant fire semi-automatic like the sten and the grease gun.

well we get your point, yet there are many SMGs that could only do full auto and had no way to select “single fire”
It have much better accuracy than 40rd.
Sooo it’s different guns.
Not to nitpick, but a smg should be auto with only some able to do semi
