Pistols are secondary weapons. They should not be better than or used as primaries but they should be handy and quick up close. The simple fact is a rifle or SMG should always be better than a handgun.
My proposals:
Increase handling on all pistols by decreasing recoil and spread.
Increase reload speed on all revolvers
Increase melee damage when holding a pistol (pistol whip) to knife levels
Buff all damage to match the corresponding caliber of SMG so for an example the TT fires a 7.62x25 cartridge which is the same as a PPsH so they should match atleast at very close ranges. The pistol would however have a quicker damage drop off (though less than it is now)
Allow upgrades. Not with the current system but with the new one for bronze orders
Slow aim yes they’re good. Quickly firing as in close range they seem to go wild as most guns do but this could also be fixed with upgrades as we all essentially have 1 star handguns. Just thinking of ideas
Not sure where you get that. I shoot all the time my friend. This is a video game however; perhaps get your real life trigger finger on in the real world. Also…clip? Wtf?
To be honest, I don’t think they need much improvement. Accuracy wise they already seem fine pistols are not very accurate at range, like in real life (not counting Olympic competition single round ones) and especially in combat situation.
Damage wise, like we discussed in another thread, pistols are fine.
EXCEPT for damage multiplier to the head. So perhaps make headshots more lethal?
We must remember that pistols are just secondary weapons here (as they are in real life) and we shouldn’t expect them to be on par with main weapons.
Even if magazine wise, smgs have more rounds, pistol should not make more damage because of it for any reason, that argument is pretty silly.
Yeah… perhaps just boost headshot lethality. I’d be satisfied this way 🤷
Wouldn’t work with the core of the game damage is decided by what type of round is fired. A 9mm bullet will do the same damage from a regular mp40 per bullet than from a luger for example, augmentation aside.
Pistols are meant as last ditch weapons in this game (as they are even in life, unless in the hands of a common lowlife thug), they are slightly better than a knife thanks to the added range, but not by much. (Exept some pistols genuinely great in game, like the 1911, colt new service and MAYBE webley, with wich you can clear rooms)
Maybe they wanted to represent how a barrel would boost bullet velocity, don’t know. Still, pistols shouldn’t do more dmg than smgs with only “because” as a reason.
