How do you program the ships and cannons on the beach to fire? And what else can be automated?

How do you make ships shoot like they did on the beach in Normandy?

at this moment in time, only

  • auto_mg42

  • turret_105_skc_32 or ship_gun_105mm

&

  • Aircraft carrier AAs

can automatically shoot at targets.

first one is self explanatory, but not great as it can be confusing to 90% of the playerbase.

ideally, they expect someone to man the mg. but not to the mg to operate it self self, and starts magically to shoot. can be used for scenary or a weak posing threat. ( the con, is that after 4000/5000 bullets, it will deplete all of it’s ammo and it cannot be replenished. and it’s not that accurate either )

about the skc turret,

there’s this guide by our lord and savior devenddar.

but i don’t know much about it more than has been already said in the linked message.

and lastly, as said, the aircraft carriers turrets which will pretty much snap and one tap most aircrafts.

a " no flying zone ".

perhaps @tommyZZM or @Devenddar can spend more words on how to change their parameters and what not.

but both are much deadlier and accurate


as a bonus, you may automate AI tank using vehicles.

but they are very limiting in what they can do. ( the method i’ll provide below, will be for static defenses. meaning that the tanks will not move. they will dodge explosive packs given the chance though )

and if you do not test early, you’ll find your self with the AI tank facing the wrong direction and not engage players at all.

so, in order for this tanks to work, you’ll have to make sure they will be facing the right direction… and to find out, you’ll have to place them…

I am in the 10% apparently, i already made lots of maps with auto_mg42

You cannot make it run out of ammo but the accuracy is because the aim offset p3 field that is apparently set to 0,1,0 by default, so it can never hit a target

The thing you want to do with it is that you make it has less hit power, and shoot less often or find targets in smaller distance

Btw, it is renamed to ai_vehicle_tank_fixed_objective before you start screaming like i did before when my mod crashes
