Today is not that day. I’m more interested in the NOW, rather than “when the game completely dies”.
Except then those maps will never be played at ALL, and they don’t have the opportunity to collect information from them with which to improve them.

Ah, now I get it. You want data like heatmaps etc. Then I guess you are right.
Though I still don’t like the idea that I’ll have to play the same 5 “best” maps.
A starting point would be to allow players to choose their preferred campaign before hitting play. Your choice if you want a longer queue. Although I’d make it reset after a minute, or analyze the queues and abandon your choice if it’s not looking favorable. There could be a small XP boost for everyone who doesn’t select a preferred campaign (thinking around ×1.1-×1.25). Although I like War Thunder’s system of setting maps preferences, there are some maps that I have never played due to them being disliked by other players. I think vetoing one map per campaign would be sufficient. Developers need time to rework maps anyway.
unfortunately, customs can’t be used for event progress. that is their main limiting factor I find. They need to make Customs with no mods valid for event progress IMO, and add BR options … where I can select open, I can select BR III - IV without a mod. If they do these things it would be a massive benefit to a lot of the complaints I think.
As I said, the intent is to break up the “best 5 maps” by making all maps good.
The reality though is that there will likely need to be some balance changes done across the board to actually make maps fair.
(The artillery spam needs to be addressed as it makes some objectives literally impossible to do anything worthwhile on either side. Just try to time it right and hope its friendly artillery coming down, not enemy is not a good way to do it.)
