One thing I like about war games is it shows the horrors and reality of, well, war. One suggestion I had in mind is having the campaign maps to allow a certain amount of bodies left dead (depending on what you personally leave your body despawn settings at to prevent lag or clutter)
One traumatic event Soviet soldiers witnessed in the past is after a charge towards a MG trench, their bodies would stack up, causing panzer tanks to then climb over and crush them as they were in their path. That’s something cool I’d want to see is after turning a corner I stop and run away as a tiger tank is just mowing down my friends body as it’s coming after me. (This could also remove and despawn bodies reducing lag as well)
The plus side of dead bodies shows other players where a no go zone may be at if there was a sniper or a machine gunner mowing people down.
It’s the only con I have of this game is it seems too sunny and happy and less gory. I want to hear gut wrenching screams yall! Give me some video game ptsd >:D
I always liked playing with the Arma 3 editor with all the WW2 mods because in the end of a mission behind you are all your troops and tanks that have been blown to bits everywhere because of Pak and MG trenches; and you are one of the lucky ones to survive.

While the Idea is actually good and I would like it a lot, the technical limitations would not allow it.
We have to consider:
-
Higher amount of bodies would put and extra load on server or computer, and because Enlisted will stay as free to play, then they have to make sure that the game is as optimized as possible.
-
Even if we store bodies locally, we can have the issue of them not being synced, meaning they cannot be touched, and rather would look like dummies without any collision box. Meaning you can be hiding behind a pile of bodies, yet the enemy would not see them and shoot straight through.

Good reciepe for camping in trenches andf bunkers. Just lay among the deads and surprise human players.
That is already a viable strategy (at least it works great for me), it just cannot work in the long term.
While I would love to see that, I don´t think that this engine can handle it.
Not to mention that this will put more pressure on our pcs, negatively affecting performance. But I agree that bodies should be around for a bit longer (but no tanks “chewing” through them with required effect)
It would indeed be immersive to see more bodies littered around, but I’d rather have extra strain on the servers because of a 60Hz tick rate upgrade instead. That would improve the network experience for everyone.
Although…the devs could possibly make bodies act client-side, and their weapons when dropped as server-side.
