Ho 229 V3 - Meteor analog

Equipped with 2x 30mm mk 103 cannons with 120rd ea (240 total) and 2x 500 KG bombs the Horten Ho 229 was a jet powered “flying wing”

Meant to be a fast bomber, able to carry 1,000 kg of bombs over 1,000 km at 1,000 km/h.

Only prototypes were made and it never saw combat as it came during the closing period of WW2… that never stopped df/gaijin however.

Previously i had suggested the Me 163 Komet specialized as a sort of fighter to counter the meteors turn time… now here is a direct analog.

Despite not having its bomb modeled in warthunder it would be here with its possible 2x 500 kg bomb load (apart of the 3x1000 project being 1000kg, 1000kmh and 1000km range)

Would be in the same squad as the 262 as to not introduce an imbalance between jet cycle-ability

This isn’t the most popular solution but it’s really the only logical one as nerfing payload of meteor and then leaving the paid one as just pay to be better wouldn’t be a good look and the turn time is historically accurate as far as i’m aware

However this then does leave the soviet one at an imbalance… considering they had to branch to post war i think they could just be ignored.

Is it supposed to be a prototype of a stealth bomber?

would be nice but unfortunately not possible, I feel like for some reason devs hating to give “high payload” planes to axis compared to allies

They will sell it as a premium 100%. While f2p players will get V2 that will only let them crash and kill it’s pilot permanently

Given the premium 262 is dedicated tank buster pretty much while still being able to be fighter then i dont find that too wild

And I’ll be curious to see which aircraft the developers have to choose from during the Cold War for Japan and the Soviet Union.

Yea no this is a terrible idea. The Ho 229 as built had no provisions for bombs. To my knowledge it wasn’t armed in general so the 229 in WT with the 30mms is already a bit of a Gaijin invention and this would make it even worse. I don’t even think the 229 even had a chance of reaching the 3x1000 goal anyways.

If there really is a need for a Meteor counter there are better ways of doing it.

Honestly in light of some comments here i was using AI to find prototypes or things built at the ver end of the war to suggest and found this and figured it could be a neat counter

I will agree with its armament and that in theory it would have it because it was built as response to the 3x1000 order but the ones that were built didn’t even have gun pods that i can see.
