History question: How did Panzer IV ausf. I look?

Germans got all panzers IV from A to H and then they have J and not I. Was Panzer IV ausf. I unfinished project or why wasn’t there Panzer IV ausf. I?

Going off memory, so I could be wrong, but I believe some Ausfrung letter nomenclature was skipped because the letter was used to denote other information about a vehicle.
And sometimes it didn’t go Alphabetical sequence either.
The Panther Ausfrung A for example came after the Ausfrung D.
