We are back this week with Operation Crusader! With the objective of liberating the besieged city of Tobruk, despite its rather confused start which caused heavy losses to the British, it was a success.
The battle was followed shortly afterwards by the Battle of Gazala which resulted in the fall of Tobruk.

Tonight 9pm, a battle that was not part of the Battle of the Bulge but just as deadly: The Battle of the Hürtgen Forest. This forest on the border between Belgium and Germany was the scene of a particularly bloody series of confrontations. The capture of this position threatened the Siegfried Line and the Ardennes Offensive (still in preparation on the German side), and the Germans defended it fiercely. The density of the forest complicated the air and artillery strikes and hampered the tanks, so the infantry battles were numerous and particularly violent.
