Why do HMGs on tank’s top not have penetration like hmg built by engineer? They’re just MG with higher damage and able to deal with aircrafts

I am pretty sure they do have armor penetration. Or at least they had, I remember bulllying Puma with the sherman top mounted HMG (HE shell were also a great tool to deal with puma).
But tbh with how quickly these MG overheat anyway I don’t think they are worth the risk of loosing your commander’s head to use them.

They have the same pen as stationary HMG. You can use tank .50 cal to shoot through lightly armored targets and built sandbag covers. Vehicle HMG have less damage, but same penetration.

I also think that coax light mgs have a little pen. You can penetrate ab 41 from the headlights and i managed to kill a bot ke ni with is 1s machinegun in the event

HA…lmao even.
I wish tank HMGs were even close to being as good to emplaced HMGs, I have no clue why they do so much less damage I swear. I mean no 50 cal should be taking 3+ shots to kill someone.
They work well if you spam the hatch button, literally pop up for a second, get 1 or 2 kills of people getting a bit too close to you and then go back to the gunner.
