It’s garbo. Wide open spaces, constant spawncamping. Cover is made of paper. That’s all there is to it. Every single match I’ve ever seen on that map has been a onesided stomp with zero chance of recovery. Whoever has the best tanks gets a free win.
I say this as a tank player, i’ve gotten multikills in the hundreds on there, & played entire matches without leaving the damn thing. If teammates block the tank slots with bad tanks in bad positions, it’s auto lose.
The new tier system (which mixes low and higher tiers together) makes this even worse. Now the best tank becomes all but invulnerable if it stays in the gray zone, which is what everybody does on this map. You can see everything from out there anyway… Including all the way to enemy spawn, which for some reason is usually the middle of an open forest. Sitting ducks.
I’m pretty resilient to frustrating gameplay owing to a not insignificant weed consumption - But spending 20 minutes getting farmed (or farming noobs) on that assmap has made me want to uninstall more than anything I’ve ever encountered during hundreds (possibly thousands) of hours ingame. It’s a worse meat grinder than D-Day. Please fix it. And stop mixing the tiers.
But that objective in the low ground of the quarry is strategic! It is pretty bad. Teams being equal skilled/armed, unwinnable. Monastary Destruction is also unwinnable all things being equal because the point by the walls. There’s a couple Berlin maps the same way. Also a point on D-day that is arguably as untakeable. Overall though, I agree, Quarry is the worst. Multiple Objectives nigh untakeable.
problem is that devs arent taking map feedback seriously.
assault is trash game mode
train escort is trash game mode
conquest is mixed bag cause it is too fast and has too much walking between caps. some maps are ok some are trash.
d-day is bad, but it needs to be in the game cause it is iconic.
d-day in reverse should just be deleted. i question intelligence of the person who approved this map to be put in the map pool.
kahif caves should be deleted (or it needs heavy rework).
quarry should be deleted (or it needs heavy rework).
airport is trash.
lots of reverse maps are bad cause they arent balanced for counter attack.
I have a lot of maps that i hate and quarry is number 1 of them. Impossible to defend any objective or build fortifications, the spawns are way too far and you cannot build good rallies
Dont forget the normandy factory. Impossible to use any vehicles due to the objectives being inside the buildings and the stupid pipes blocking your way. Even berlin is better for tanks
Imagine wanting to uninstall game purely because of you not liking one specific map.
Meanwhile you can easily quit every match you play. And the only penalty for that is loss of insignificant point for completely pointless ranking system.
What a tragedy. I don’t like one map in video game, and I am so angry because of that!!! My life is ruined!
that is the problem. people dont have all the tools they need. if we could make loadouts for specific maps then it would be ok, but problem is that most players must make do with most useful 3+1 squads that they have on most maps. in 90% of them you dont need smoke.

true, but explosive packs, molotovs and impact grenades have more general utility. smokes are more or less useful only maps with lots of open terrain, thus making f2p more focused on general utility. not to mention that smoke grenades relatively suck (it seems to me that they were nerfed from last year).
btw this is almost same argument when someone mentions that US dont have effective counter to german big cats. some people will just say, bring plane or explosive packs or det pack, ignoring the fact that basic game comes with 1+3 slots and if people bring tank, they cant bring a plane.

sounds more excuses than anything to me.
and i don’t wanna judge anyone, but running smokes on engineers, medics, snipers, or machinegunners ( especially on passive classes that generally should expose them selves less, or shooting from afar position ) really does not affect a balance between frags and explosives
which you often pay the price for those maps.
smokes can, and will always be useful no matter the map.

pop a smoke.
want to cover your allies advance?
pop a smoke
want to reach a position somewhat safe?

i was more thinking that when it comes to smoke, people always downplay them and shocker, gets shits results because they never run with at least one to begin with.
and complaining about map design despite having the tools for each situation at your disposal relatively cost free, it’s just idiotic.

as it goes for the smokes, personally, i tried my best, and luckely, i got heared out and smoke shells for mortars were introduced because of my post.
( no, i’m not trying to be that entitled. but legit. the only post was made for smoke on mortars, were mine )
regarding the others, we can, and could focus on improving them rather than outclass them as " useless " and then complaining about maps.
( even though, they do the job. only gripes, don’t last that long. and in the editor there is a smoke grenade called short but unironically lasts even longer than the ones we have )
not excuses, but simply you are having more frag potential with those grenades than with smokes. cause playerbase is really bad, smokes are only useful in 5% of the cases where enemy team is good and they can cover all approach to cap and even then it is not that useful cause enemy simply outclasses your team. also they are rather useless on defender team.
f2p players must have generalist build that is useful in >90% of the situations. sure smokes are useful, but in 95% of the game you can perform extremely well without them
there is no passive class for me they are all aggressive whether i run engineers or MG.
well they are rather useless on defense and in some game modes (conquest). then you can exclude most urban maps cause they simply have lots of cover and while you can use them there, they are simply not that useful. not to mention lots of open terrain maps provide decent cover for most caps and smokes are only needed if you are against really good team. then there are problematic maps like quarry where one or 2 tanks can just deny access to cap (idk if smokes really help when there is competent tanker spamming HE on approach).
