Any pistol that has a stock should be able to be used as a primary weapon (C.96 M.712,yazikov,arty luger,whatever the name of the auto 1911 is) as a primary weapon at BR1.They can still be used in the pistol slot,but you won’t be able to have as much ammo for it.the automatic ones should be classed as SMGs for primaries,and the arty luger should be a SA gun for use on most soldiers (It was a while back,funnily enough).this way you can use these pistols (especially the c96 and yazikov) for more then 10 seconds without running out of amm.I wish DF would make ammo pouches give pistols ammo and have dedicated pistol ammo pouches but I doubt they would do that anytime soon,so this a stopgap for that really.

They should remove those fatuous ammunition pouches and give us the ability to set the amount of ammunition at will. More ammunition for your favorite weapon, but less first aid kits or other equipment etc.

Why would you even want a pistol for a primary when you can have both? Artillery luger used to be primary then people asked for it to be a pistol slot gun. They delivered. Seems better this way
Im just saying there should be a choice,being a primary weapon with more ammo,or a pistol with less ammo.
I agree. Not realistic that soldiers are carrying sidearms the size of SMGs. I feel it’s a bit unfair when I whip out my 1911 Swartz.

When you can use an automatic pistol in a low-level environment
You will find that the value of a semi-automatic rifle will be severely devalued
Well those pistols with stock could actually be a BR1 semi auto alternative to bolt actions - which require alot of skill to be used, and since BR1 is what gets new players introduced I think having noobs get semi autos from the start would make the learning curve much much less extreme.
We should not forget that Enlisted specifically has a lot of low skill players - making their live easier is without a doubt a good idea.
