Has Darkflow Run Out of Gold Weapon Ideas?

Especially for Pacific Axis, which was always going to be a problem anyway… Lucky there’s a suggestion for a future Pacific Axis gold weapon in the video, the Tokyo Arsenal Model 1927.

“Look at me! Look at my new promotional video! I’ve put my face on it, but this time I look SAD! Please don’t forget to subscribe, like, and click the bell button, it’s the only reason why I post my self promoting videos on the forums!”

Promote him here is even stupid, last time a “new user” join us?

Just imagine that DF copy+pastes gun stats… dunno man.
Apart from the wrong Cöler, I don’t see the criticism here. Feels like clickbait.

Ya’ll are being such haters. If it wasnt for CC’s like him, Facetac, Enlightened, and Quadro this game would be even more dead. DF doesn’t do much marketing of their own and half the forum is toxic and bullies to new posters anyways lol. Atleast the CC’s come up with SOME positive ideas and speculations sometimes, most posters on here are just flat out mean to new comers and you are probably reading this.

That’s fine bro but discouraging CC’s from wanting to cover the game only hurts an already suffering player base? lol

Criticizing ONE video =/= complaining about CC in general.
Otherwise gay.

Lots of times the CC’s have shared their latest video people clown them(aside from Facetac cuz he doesnt’t do much commentary or opinion) and have just clowned them in general over the last couple years. Now they mostly don’t even do it. This is not to hate on what the devs did with the latest weapons either, it is friggan hard to come up with more new stuff from an old war and keep the community happy.

Edit: I dont know what the dev policy has to do with my opinion that I dont like the video.

I actually play the game and barely know who any of these people are, I doubt they’re doing anything to bring in new players.

Yet another overdramatic “content creator” with made up dramas and fake problems.

That’s not totally even true. Most of them, according to them, stream and play videos for current playerbase. As stating ideas on a video or on a post is exacly the same outcome.

Getting a million views on a jackfrag video for example will have a higher chance to make said people talk about the game, a suggestion, or get the issue a larger priority, coz milions saw it, and also may make people play the game for first time without stating negatives left and right that might make people not even try the game to begin with

Yes current ccs are needed, as everywhere, but they ain’t the most important source of showing the game on a large scale nor getting an idea going or exposing a suggestion.

Major atleast, could place few more answers on the forum now and then and be present, and not use the forum only to promote his content and never to be Sean again untill next video.

As for his video, df gave us new weapons for gold orders, weapons most of us didn’t even know existed, somehow coz 1 of them was a direct copy of a premium weapon, they must be lacking ideas…

Bruh

Well if the devs need Japanese premium weapon ideas, I’d be happy to help.

  • The aforementioned Tokyo Army Arsenal Model 1927
  • Tokyo Army Arsenal Model 1928
  • Type 44 Carbine
  • Type 89 Special MG
  • Kijiro Nambu’s Semi-auto rifle
  • Type 91 MG

If they need more, I’ll be here.

I’d also like to see the Japanese shotgun pistol, but the idea that there’s any shortage of weaponry for the Japanese both in the Pacific campaign but also generally is a flawed notion.

While the recent addition to the battlepass was uninspired to say the least, gameplay wise they do offer some pretty fun SMGs for those who don’t pick up the premium squad. If for whatever reason however OP is still unaware, the linked threads are fantastic references for the future options Japan has in terms of content for the main campaign progression, battle pass, premium squads, and event rewards.

Also didn’t realize it at the time but the video also is foundationally misinformed about the Type 1 SMG: the preorder weapon and the BP weapon are technically distinct (the issue is a translation error), this doesn’t change the fact that a more unique weapon would’ve been nice, but regardless one should not assume Darkflow just made up the weapon either.

It is not. The video should have demonstrated that they ARE technically distinct weapons, and I agree with you there because they are, and I did not assume it was just made up. It was just stated that there’s so little information on it, especially with the Type 1 only being made 50 times anyway, to distinguish between “early” and “not early”, hence the fact it wasn’t a unique choice for a gold weapon.

but the idea that there’s any shortage of weaponry for the Japanese both in the Pacific campaign but also generally is a flawed notion.

This was mostly referring to SMGs - the Japanese had basically none, hence me saying the latest battlepass weapons suggested they were running out of ideas. Yes, they had more weapons of other types and these threads you linked are good examples, but still few in comparison to other factions to pick from.

There are fewer than some other militaries on the whole, but I don’t think Darkflow is in any worry of running out of gold weapon ideas, not remotely in fact. Unless a double standard is applied to the Pacific, I would frankly be entirely unconcerned with such an issue, as even in SMGs alone I’d say there’s still a reasonable overhead in unique weapons to give us a few more in the campaign, maybe another premium squad if really need be, and the rest can be thrown into gold weapons.

Frankly, however, I’d be more interested in seeing meaningful improvements to Japanese semiauto rifles (Type Otsu with 10 rounds, Type Hei sniper variant, etc.), and with Pacific maps being quite well suited for longer sightlines, I think these would end up having a more meaningful impact on gameplay in the medium to long term.

As far as interesting gold weapons, I’ve already mentioned the funny shotgun pistol, but I do think less conventional weapon choices are one of the better ways to introduce gold order weaponry since the campaign should be nominally where you get the best weapons, not the battlepass (e.g. the ultralight machine gun should at the very least be present in the campaign levels before it becomes a premium or battlepass offer, similar with the Type Otsu with extended magazine, unlike what they did with the type Hei extended).
