So hardcore lone fighter is actually kinda good imo but when you use a tank you lose the ability to easily determine which way the turret is pointed relative to the hull and the status of your crew. Both of these are critical things to know in a tank and should be easily determined without much effort.
I wouldn’t mind just bringing back the tank model indicator in the lower left of the screen and the old squad status indicator as well. The lack of hitmarkers and other things in the game makes hardcore plenty hard enough.

use your commander to determine that.

until you realize your commander is DEAD but the game didn’t tell you about it so you end up throwing your gunner into the commander seat at a potentially critical moment.
Bringing back just the tank model in the lower left along with the squad status is all thats needed to make tanking in hardcore a bit more viable
isn’t that the point of hardcore?
otherwise i have to agree that perhaps sound indicators of your soldiers dying inside the tank would actually be realistic and help you to understand who is missing.
we have sounds if something has been hitted or bounced after all.
a tank crew can easily determine without even looking outside the tank itself which way the turret is facing and the state of the crew. The game needs to allow the same level of situational awareness by bringing back the basic tank/squad HUD elements
Well, not really.
You don’t need to know which direction your tank is facing.
And above all, you don’t need the UI.
Like, even in real life they couldn’t know if their tank was broken until the tank it self started to act like they are not supposed to ( or not working as intended ).
There were many reports of German tankers abandoning their tank from smoke shells, because they thought that their tank was about to blow up.
you’re completely missing my point. I am not asking to know the condition of the tank I just want to know where the stupid turret is pointed relative to the hull and the condition of the crew. THAT’S IT.
Without properly modeled tank interiors and possibly VR to go alongside that trying to figure the exact position of the turret relative to the hull can be challenging when you’re trying to never stop moving so as to avoid det packs and then take on another tank in the middle of that. Can easily lose track of the hull direction and run into things which gets you stuck and blown up.
In real life you can turn around your head, though and talk to other crew members. In real life, a gunner would just need to take a quick glance to know the position of his turret, relative to the hull. And any crewmember would make any damage he notices known to the rest.
Getting rid of all of the UI for “realism” is a hare-brained idea. There’s a good reason why shooters have a HUD, and that is because the level of interaction with the gameworld is inherently very limited compared to the real world. Field of view is much lower, game controls don’t allow natural movements like turning the head, can’t yell at people etc. etc. etc. The HUD is there to compensate for that.
Of course some stuff goes beyond what is necessary and it is fine to lose stuff like the minimap and hitmarkers and such.
But with the way it is now, I consider Lone Fighters to be in as broken state.

finally someone here gets the point im making…

again, i think that the hardcoore it’s a great concept.
but just like the previous lone fighter, it brings more things to work on.
once again, in " hardcore " hud shouldn’t be a thing.
that’s the main point of it, and i guess devs somewhat nailed that.
but i do agree that it’s somewhat harder to understand the crew and how much damage you dealt to the enemy.
but again, that’s the main point of it.
therefore, a system where voice lines get added, screams, automatic speeches about the state of the crew or the tank, would solve the issue.
plus, voice lines got added in those last updates for machineguns, ( when they are reloading, and when they are cooling down, artillery and order to attack enemy tanks )
