Frag grenades can damage tanks if they land in just the right spot. Not sure how impact grenades differ in damage but it’s not a huge stretch that it could be possible.

Yeah not sure how that happens, I have to assume maybe someone else actually killed the tank, but maybe your impact grenade blew up just at the right time so it gave you the kill?
Similar to how you can get the tank “kill” by shooting the commander if he is out of the hatch while using any basic weapon at the same time that a teammate shoots the tank with AP or an AT weapon.

For 1 or 2 month I’ve been seeing people throwing frag grenade on my tank.
I don’t know if they are newbie or bots.
Because it never hurt me before. Hand grenade killibg tanks must be closer to a bug than to a feature.

I have killed tanks with Mortars before as well, and it has been with the same incredulity.

I’ve found that placing a frag grenade directly over the engine usually damages it.
This was tested against A13s though, not sure about heavier tanks.
Yeah plenty of times I see people rushing aggressively at my tank, and I’m like “Oh shit, oh shit” cause I think they must have a det pack, only for them to then throw a cooked frag at my tank…and I’m just left confused at what they thought they were doing.
I’d guess the difference between hand grenades and det packs against tanks is like ap and he rounds on tanks. It’s possible to kill with them but rare (except tanks are a bit more consistent since they…well…have huge ass guns).

Maybe we are back to the bug where the crew is out and dead so the next thing that hits it with any force will destroy it.
That or a bug of some kind. I personally have seen Arty Strikes nuke tanks now in Moscow. But my assumption there is an arty shell hitting the thin top of a tank would indeed be sufficient to destroy it outright.

You cannot destroy or damage tanks with no.69 impact grenades or mk2 grenades.
I tested this in practice on the weak AB41.
I threw many many grenades but no damage at all.
Not at the engine and not at the weak spots.
The last hit is counted.
So when you hit a damaged tank (with some grenade) and it later blows up (not because of the grenade) you get the kill.
I made this screenshot with just one shot from the AT gun (to set tank on fire) and one impact grenade (which did no damage).
I just waited for the tank to blow up by itself and I got the kill with no.69 impact grenade.

You didn’t look at my picture carefully. You can notice that the grenade in the picture killed all the members in the tank, and the tank exploded at the same time. The situation you mentioned can only happen if all the members in the tank have been dead for a period of time.
Please look carefully next time. Also, do not test in the training ground, which will lead to misunderstanding

Maybe the tank was damaged, crew still alive inside.
Grenade was thrown against tank but no damage.
Tank exploded after that due to already present damage, and the crew died because of that.
Last hit (= grenade) gets the kill of tank and crew.
So I am not convinced, my friend.
But this? In this picture, nobody tried to explode me until grenades
Nah you can definitely kill tanks with grenades, at least if they have an open top like the M8 Scott.
