Halftracks squads

Give us halftrack squads too add to the campaign levels. You can make halftrack variants into premuim squads. Itll be a win win. Everyone gets basic halftracks and darkflow gets their premuims with cool variants

There are already have half track variant like M13 MGMC and panzerwerfer in game. But seriously what is special about half track variant? Half track itself doesn’t have much benefits, it is just a gun carrier. It is good or not mainly depends on its gun.

with m13 you see that they have broken damage models. they can be stronger than tanks cause of need to kill their crew before destroying them.

also half tracks as mobile spawn points wont work in almost every campaign cause there is no cover in reasonable distance from cap. rally points are simply superior option.

If halftracks were added, or mechanized infantry (in your opinion) how many should be allowed in the map at one given time?

I’d like to have more vehicles and types in general in the game. More immersive toys for this WW2 sandbox

I don’t think they should count as a tank slot, although some half track variants had particularly powerful armaments. And the Panzerwerfer in game counts as a tank slot.

Maybe they could make it be 2 armored vehicle slots, so 2 tanks, 2 planes, and 2 avs. I don’t know how motorcycles are handled in Tunisia, plus when motorcycles are added to other/ future campaigns

Of course this is talking about the game in its current state and size which I am fine with, for now. I will say that I do believe in the future the amount of players and/or size of the maps will increase so who knows

well in current game, halftracks dont have much use… i would like them overall but currently game design is just shit for them.

  • if they get in tank spot they will be underpowered unless they have broken damage models like m13
  • they represent big target that should be easily destroyable by tanks or bazookas
  • if they function like mobile spawn point they will be useless compared to rally points. in most maps there is just no cover where you could put half track in reasonable distance from cap. rally points will be more stealthy and you could put them close to cap points
  • if they function like transport, that too will not be useful cause most caps are just ~100m away from one another
  • if you take some AT/AA/MG half track it should take same slot as tank cause it will be too powerful for infantry. they could have rider slot if they increase number of players per battle. having separate slot for half tracks will just make life hell for infantry in current game state
  • current maps are just shit for vehicles. too much debris where even tanks get stuck.
  • in current campaign schema, they can be only added as premium vehicles

so overall if you want halftracks then game needs to just get bigger. bigger maps, more players per battle, maps designed with cover in mind for halftracks (and overall more vehicle friendly maps) and with redesigned grind.

love to use them in mods, but i would like them in the base game.

You know I don’t know why they called them that. Motorized/ Mechanized infantry sounds so much better

cause of tunis. they are called riders there.

That’s why I say that maybe in the future they will overhaul the campaign level system, along side player+map increases

i would like that… game would be better with bigger maps and more players. would have more intense war feeling. sadly devs have given no hint of changing the current game.

Then no one will use them. We have rider/ driver class. Lets recycle them and not just dump them as Df did.

in 10 player battles i would rather they are not in rider/driver class if they have weapon attached to them. having 5 vehicles out of 10 players is too much. if they get player count up to 15-20 then it would be ok.

Why? People use 4 Assaulters. I dont see much issues here especially since APCs are not really for egoistic purpose unlike a Sherman.
