Since Partisans atm are highly underpowered, here is a mechanically and historically good way to save them:
For every soldier slot in the squad unlock another weapon currently unusable:
2nd: Assault Rifle
3rd: MG
4th: AT Weapons
5th: Select Fire Rifles
for the first slot unlock all of these, to make the squad leader flexible & an experienced soldier.
This perfectly reflects partisans as randomly thrown together dudes with different skills & increases the squads utility & making it significantly more fun to play.
âB-But its OP now, this will be the end of Enlisted!!!â
No, its still weaker than Assaulters but my suggestion at least makes partisans fun and worth picking and will make the premium partisans worth buying, which they currently simple are not.
They are only semi usable at low-mid BR, at high BR they canât even cross the greyzone since they will be instantly destroyed by anyone carrying BR5 SF rifles or STG/AS-44. But their large ammo bags with two guns make them overpowered on certain maps where they can flank around the cover. So they need some buffs around high BR.
In my opinion Partisans shine best on urban maps, like stalingrad, Berlin and some variations of Normandy and can be very annoying at times. However on open maps they arenât as easy to use, cuz they stand out with their uniform and therefore are dealt with pretty quickly. However I donât think partisans right now needed to be buffed in anyway.
I dont know. My only issue with them is them not being able to use vehicles.
But they do just fine, especially since they got so much ammo from picking up weapons. Made Pacific Japan funnier for me. Also donât see how MGs make them more effective and hey, at least the Russians can have fun with their drum SMGs I guess (and Allies with gold order Commando and Silenced M3)
First of all, only the Germans and the Russians have actual âpartisansâ as the Allied and Japanese ones are special forces, which automatically makes the second quote pointless.
And lets ignore that the Volkssturm was not really âusedâ in a way like Soviet partisans. They mostly fought frontline in German cities or served as reserve pool for the Wehrmacht and the Waffen SS.
But anyway, neither the Russians nor the Germans had ARs in their partisan forces. The Soviets never had one to begin with. The Fed is technically a battle rifle/ automatic rifle, and there is already very weak evidence that it was used in WW2 at all, so I doubt Soviet partisans got their hand on that one. I am not sure about the StG/ MP43, but I doubt it since the Volkssturm units usually have cheaper weapons.
MGs kinda make sense.
AT weapons only made sense to the Germans due to the Panzerfaust. I am not sure about Soviet partisans using the PTRD and PTRS, but I doubt it since they are, again, large and heavy and their ammo may also be hard to get, but I am also not an expert.
SF rifles are dumb because the FG42 was issued to paratroopers, and most of them were used in Italy and France. The Soviets, at best, used the AVS as the AVT was issued shortly in 1942/43 and most likely didnât make it to the occupied territories.
AT weapons require lot of training, they are bulky too so I doubt that anything other than panzerfaust in reasonable numbers.
Itâs definitely not an assault rifle.
There are few pictures of individual soldiers carrying them around in very early stages of the 2nd world war, mostly second line troops since USSR certainly didnât have enough 6.5mm Arisaka ammo for combat if they had ammo at all.
Giving AT launcher access to the greyzone will just lead to one player just spawn camping the one tank spawn for the entire game and there is litterly nothing those tanks can do about it.
Once the soldier is in position there is little hope of the enemy team killing him as intantry have no reason to run back 200m just to kill a single dude.
Even though the guerrilla squads can enter into the enemy gray zone, I really havenât noticed that many spawn campers. So, everybodyâs worrying and complaining about this problem (especially before the guerrillas were even introduced into the game) is way over blown.
Letâs buff these guys so you can utilize them however you wantâmore flexibility means you can outfit the squad based on your own personal play style.
Iâm sick of my tanks blowing up when the battlefield changes because I canât get out fast enough because Iâm stuck on a tent or a tiny rock or an ant that is in my way. Tanks should be able to roll over just about anything.
I couldnât believe it in one game I was stuck on a tent for like five minutes ( I got out to see wtf was wrong), but I have the ability to knock over giant trees and drive through walls?
You should at least get 2x the time they give you now. You are on the battlefield and then you get the warning and the fân greyzone shifts 200m!
Just today had a great spot on the flank, the enemy could not see me and I was blasting them into tiny pieces.
The battlefield changes and I was even pointed in the right direction, I make a beeline for the point at full speed and didnât make it.
I already have a handicap because of a crappy ping (I lose a lot of squadâs because my dudes cant run fast enough sometimes to get out) or there is on obstacle I have to go around.
That just gives players with a 10ms ping even more of an advantage.
I will know there is an enemy coming for me, Iâm prone and aimed at where he will be, and I might hit him 1 time and he hits me 10 times and I die. Then he wipes out the rest of my squad because it takes half an hour to switch to another squad member who is hidden around the cornerâŚwaaa, waaa, waaaâŚ
Make everyone have the same amount of lag as the slowest player in the match. I have learned to improvise, not everyone is as quick as each other IRL, but the grey zone issue is like insult to injury.
I dont think another 30 seconds or even a minute is too much to ask for, to get out of the GZ. It like a penalty for being smart and finding a good spot.
5 men with big ammo bag SMG and BA rifle? How is that underpowered.
Thereâs not a single class that can have big ammo and two weapons simultaneously.
Not even speaking of grey zone nonsense.
How tf can be something like this underpowered, lol?
Non meta â underpowered.
This class is non meta just for the simple fact of this game being all about objectives.
This class is wrong by design. You donât want to waste your time in greyzone.
Youâre effectively just sabotaging both your and enemy team. This class should never made it to live server.
And itâs still not a proper solution to greyzone tanks.
These things even use different ammunition, which is certainly not something that guerrillas who are short of supplies can use.
Itâs crazy enough that the game lets them use ten assault weapons, and now youâre asking for more buff based on âHAâ?
I like this idea. Its unfortunate people complaining OP. (hey you guys, if youd accepted that the grey zone needed to be removed entirely or actually enforced for everyone in the first place, we wouldnt be having this discussionâŚ)
I dont see why guerillas shouldnt have a machine gunner or medic. Maybe each battle one could choose a âmission typeâ like engineers or medics. In real life commando groups would plan ahead for a mission like the sorts of weapons and tools theyd need.
