Guns ammo

So basically anyone who has played insurgency should know what I want to say. So to say for example right now if you have 4/20 ammo, you reload and have 5/19. To make it more realistic it should be for example 4/20, you reload and have 5/15, basically what happens, you throw away the mag which might have bullets, so this system would make players use all of their bullets carefully.

People already cry sometimes about magazines not filling automaticly and that they are left with 3 rounds in one and 1 round in another.
Throwing mags/clips away could be too much.

Two problems:

  • why when I reload my BA rifle with internal magazine, I should lose 4 rounds? They are still there and I’m only adding a new one. Nobody will empty his rifle and throw away good ammo only to use a stripper clip instead of a single bullet.
  • we have only 5 mags per soldier, already many people argue that it’s not enough. Your suggestion will only make ammo shortage even greater.

Additionally now soldiers instead of throwing out half empty mags store them so you can still use them.

In most every Shooter you throw not away Bullets when you reload your mag to full.

It is important after shoot Bullets and you will go around a corner that you have full Mag. Or will you Clear out a Bunker with 2 Rounds in your Aussault Rifle. And there a 5 Enemies.
You can not shout to them: "Wait don´t Shoot, i must reload.

Personally i think 98% are good with this how it actual works in Game.

Great, but why did you make a comment to my post instead of the original post?

This is implemented already once you run lower on ammo.

So, you might not notice it because there aren’t any icons but you actually have about 2 or 3 magazines that you use. In case that didn’t make sense: go in game, play with an SMG or LMG (anything with a magazine) and fire a few shots then reload, keep doing that and you’ll eventually start using partially empty magazines.
