Guerillas should be able to drive vehicles

The title is self-explanatory.

At the moment guerillas are forbidden from driving generated vehicles such as jeeps and Opel Blitzs, as well as player motorcycles that have been abandoned.

This needs to change.

There is for example a Tunisia map where the Allies spawn behind a sand dune and use generated jeeps to drive across a big expanse of desert to get to the outer buildings of the objective, under fire from the enemy.

Guerillas are forced to run the whole way so naturally get killed given there is zero cover.

It’s also just useful being able to drive vehicles.

Now I’m guessing the devs thought guerillas who could drive vehicles like Kubelwagens and jeeps would be OP. I question this thinking.
As far as firepower, guerillas are no different from a standard assault squad in a vehicle (they dont have AT weapons or LMGs either).

Being able to drive around is helpful, but not so advantageous to render a squad OP.
Remember, we’re relying upon generated vehicles that are not always present and often destroyed by artillery fire. Squads are still open to be killed.

I just don’t understand why this is a thing.

Well they probably thought having vehicle would make them faster at “spawn camping” at the beginning of the match

Altho tbh if most people use their eye they can see them coming but we all know the average skill of enlisted player

Is more a map issue, some map aren’t suited for flanking instead other let you do it, some map aren’t suited for paratrooper and other yes, same for tank, plane ecc… All specialized squad are situational and work just in a determinate map or moment of the battle

I’ve been thinking about this lately. Guerrillas / Saboteurs are here to stay, we have to accept that. Now, how about we look for different ways to make their gameplay more interesting and not as gimmicky. Being able to find a method of transportation should be possible, specially for wide open flank maneuvers.

but that is irrelevant to them being able to use car or not cause who care? if someone want to use car they gonna use it even if the map is open wide like stalingrad factory map

je veux ma voiture d’accord? (i know it french but i learn that italian could understand it a bit so im testing it)

Is relevant for avoid spawn camping, Moscow museum conquest map let you flank toward the enemy spawn with cars, now this is half possible with normal infantry but guerilla can simply encircle the area and fire from behind the people who are spawning, now if you let them use a car they can do this in the first 30s of the battle, and if one player is just a nuisance 4 people who do thath coordinated become impossible to beat, just immagine a car Who keep ram people in your grey zone, again and again

one if you mean map assets stick to that i don’t want them taking over apc’s tank and bikes

but i don’t know any squad outside event that has five assaulters

yeah no lmg but five smg is a lot of fire power so until they nerf them in some other way giving them vehicles would be a big buff

I disagree. Okay maybe not motorcycles but why not unarmed vehicles like literally every other squad?

I dont believe this is OP, they can still run.

Indeed people are whinging about them driving around behind enemy spawn, thats a problem with the ability to go into greyzone, not how they get here.

It’s specifically OP with guerrillas because they can blitz to behind enemy lines with little risk to set up shop. There’s a thing called high risk, high reward for game mechanics to be balanced.

Something that has little risk and high reward in game is over powered. There has to be a high risk element to get behind enemy lines for them to be more balanced. You’re just trying to twist logic around here by saying its an ability problem. That IS the reason they cant drive

I’m 99% sure that guerilla can’t use vehicles because devs were affraid you would take a tank from your friend.
Tbh I don’t know if it would be any worse than what we already had.

which was the first thing I had in mind :stuck_out_tongue:

Ive been playing for over 3 years now and Ive never really seen tanks taken except once or twice an abandoned M13 (usually stuck in a trench but still useable as an AA gun).

I mean situation where you have a friend who gives you his tank.

Fair, but how common is that?

My squadmate wouldnt want to run around with 3 guys with Stens so I could have a tank lol

Lol seems like you don’t know what kind of stuff will those stack players do to exploit the game.

At least the devs are smart enought to not let the Guerillas drive right up to the Enemy spawn.

If youre gonna spawn camp at least make.it hard on the spawn camper.

That’s nonsense.

Guerrillas can’t take vehicles for the reason that they would reach the grey zone in 20 seconds without any effort and with full HP.

No, no. Let them fight their way in nicely or spend a few minutes going all over flank of battlefield.

This is most likely the only reasonable decision devs made in relation to guerrillas.

yea tbh if they are playing with friend they wouldnt use guerilla to take the tank anyway it would be mg or flamethrower or anything else tbh

I wont allow them drive, but I would allow them be passenger in a truck

From my experience a soldier build for speed is faster than any land vehicle. Both beause of piss poor vehicle parameters (like acceleration, max speed and torque) and because of maps being awful.
But maybe I’m just a bad driver.
