forcing tanks out of the greyzone is impossible because many maps are way too small.
just look at D-Day map, playable area ends 5m after the objective, that is physically too small for a vehicle.
All we need is some sort of weapon for infantry, perhaps heavy mortar buildable that could take those tanks out, camping tanks would be less of a problem (buffing mortar while reducing gray zone camping, pure heaven)
I play mostly infantrty, i canāt play tank or plane well, so when thereās tank camping i have no options to deal with it, attempting to get in tank or plane would probably result in wasted tickets
Grey zone tanks are a problem only for beginners / bad players.
Current mortars are completely sufficient for that.
interesting, i am gonna check that out sure thing.
Lol from a guy who bought extra slot.
I think you should try using bombs they always let you to destroy any tank with almost no risk. Greyzone is not a problem with overpowered planes that canāt be destroyed by anyone but the other planes.
To answer this part of your statement, this wonāt solve anything. A very good example of this is the KV-1 in Stalingrad. I feel like I am one of the few people who knows how to destroy KV-1 tanks and even I have trouble with them within the combat area, let alone sitting back in the greyzone. If you nerf AT weapons there will still be many tankers sitting in the back which ends up coming back to this question. Those KV-1 tanks will still sit in the back.
Yes I concur that encouraging tankers to push with Infantry closer or even on the objectives is very much needed. In fact I donāt think this is a āOne Fix Solutionā either. What I do know is that there are some bad solutions and nerfing AT weapons aināt the way to go.
seriously, just give a score penalty to tanks doing anything while in the greyzone. it will not stop people grayzone camping, but it would definitely makes it less desireable for a lot of players.
imagine this, you score a sick 10 dude multikill, but what the devil! you only get a pitiful 100 score/points from that isntead of like, 500 or something!
quite a lot of people would be peeved enough that they might charge out of the grayzone.
I like the objective capture multiplier portion.
I honestly think HE was shadow nerfed at some point. The german rocket truck on Normandy used to literally clear a hole building floor if you got a rocket in through the window. Now you have to most of the time hit a soldier in order to kill or even get splash multi kills. Also HE used to kill you even if it didnāt hit inside the house, but hit the outside part near a window you were looking out of, at least in my memory. Now not anymore.
I still think that wouldnāt solve things, especially if someoneās salty he got mowed down after turning a corner and just grey zones out of spite. I think a better more aggressive solution would be that, after you do your first grey zone kill you have 15 to 30 seconds to get out of the grey zone or you die just like any other squad. This change should also be visual, as both your screen view and minimap should then reflect what the rest see as the grey zone. You kill out of the grey zone, bam minimap changes boundaries and the āget back to the battlefieldā message and grey screen appears also. I think that in order to avoid any unpredictable situations you have to be aggressive. No more griefers greyzoning half the game, and whoever doesnāt know and makes an honest mistake will learn fast that they have to stay within battlefield boundary.
Just make it so tanks canāt fire in the grey zone so they have to charge in with the infantry
Can someone explain me to what is it ātanks should push with the infantryā thing about ?
Because everyone who played this game for at least one hour knows that all tanks are more effective on a great distance.
Tank is not a soldier - turret traverse is slow, and the gun has a strong zoom.
For me tanks are effective in close combat same as the snipers.
Which I guess is good idea consider poor vision and mobility of most tanks.
thatās a good stance tbh. though i have done some very bold charge in normandy with the humble M5A1 and tap dance in the cap zone. it was surprisingly effective. just tap dance, swerve, and act like a drunk bull with a machine gun and cannon in a china shop.
it even works for defending a cap zone! somehow.
the easiest way is to camp somewhere and roleplay as a particularly metal machine gun and cannon emplacement i guess. but if the terrain and map allows it, being a supporting assault element is fun and useful too!
⦠of course these assume you have a good enough team.
those kind of fucker will become a burden with any other way. your suggestion would definitely curb tank sniping, but it would also cause some side effect like tanks now fear attacking from the grey zone, thus causing them to be unable to properly clear a threat thatās only really shootable from the gray zone. this will also cause some āzerg rushā of tanks that would probably cause the map to be clogged in new and unexpected place.
Tankers 90% dont know how to play. Engage the point without support of infantry and complainā¦.
Then, it is asked to nerf weapons cause grey zone tanker are the noobest of the noobs. TNT has been nerfed to the ground no need to do more.
Solution 1 : Maybe the cannon and the MG of the tank should suffer temporary nerf when in grey zone camping. Also if you are staying behind you are not helping much your team.
Solution 2: You can get there with a plane but when someone is hogging the plane doing nothing you donāt have much left
Solution 3: How about a news class of reconnaissance squad that allows to go deeper in grey area and stay longer to chase those tanks?
i personally do not think a nerf to either tanks or AT weapons would solve anything.
its more a thing of questionable map design:
when the tank can sit on a ridge, shoot down into enemy spawn zones and the cap at the same time while having full overview of the entire map; THATS what makes them so annoying.
so, imho, a solution would be: tanks cannot shoot from greyzone cause no line of sight to cap or enemy spwan. but that would need some serious map or cap zone reworkā¦
oh and:
thats an interesting idea! at least for me ⦠cause i dislike the whole greyzone concept, but thats only me i guessā¦
Never understood the fear of dying in a tank in this game. Get in the fight, thatās the cycle of this game.
If it were a stationary artillery battery that could be countered, great amd neat. But this is an infantry game primarily and the tanks should be working to SUPPORT the infantry and vise versa. I love moving with armor to protect against enemies, canā5 do much of that from the rear echelon.
people dont undertand jsut how small the playable area is some maps have a open zone for both teams barely the size of the objective
Spawning and dying over and over again is just the part and parcel of a war game. I think more people have to grow thicker skin.
Maybe Iām a Machine Gunner and Iām running with the infantry wave and lay my bipod. Maybe I get some kills, maybe a sniper takes me out the moment I press the bipod button
Maybe Iām an Assaulter and Iām rushing the objective taking out enemies, maybe I get shot the very moment I step foot inside the objective
Maybe Iām going in for a strafing/bombing run and get a bunch of kills, maybe I miss the target
