This has to stop, idk why the devs think its a great idea to allow tanks to sit in the gray zone and camp. I had a game where a japanese tank (the last one) sat in the back of every objective, specifically close to their spawn and popped off 75mm with 5-7 wipes every shot. No one had a plane, no one built AT, and every time our tanks spawned, he would either wipe them as soon as they got to the obj or a enemy blew it up with TNT.
The point is, why? Why are tanks allowed to do this? Either make it so tanks are forced into battle same as foot soldiers or give paratroopers the ability to drop in enemy spawn with no consequence. Its wild that this game has been out for more than a year and this mechanic hasnt been patched out.
And there’s no concept of teamwork or working together or protecting the armor it’s pushing forward so I can’t blame them for graze on camping when I pushed into an objective my team didn’t help me they just let me die instead of protecting the armor so I can’t blame them for camping this game is about who can get the most kills and not working together
True. For the pacific i always try to bring my flamethrower tank because i cant trust randoms. But when I am a foot soldier, i atleast try to mark spots for the tanks and if im close enough cover the tank as best as i can with smoke & firing on enemies. Its wild how no one reads the mini map and tries to support or cover holes.
Only a few matches ive had, where team work shines and thats when the game is amazing. (When both sides are sweating) Most of the time im getting destroyed by tanks, planes or snipers half way across the map smh
Well, ask devs, map design is sometimes terrible unables troops to either get to the tank or penetrate it by some AT cannons or guns. I know one map on Tunisia where tanks camp on the bridge are impossible to be destroyed or even bothered by infantry due to lack of EQ or low level AT guns. Lack on planes or proper tanks are also a key for camping this way.
Furthermore, there are sometimes points where greyzone starts in close distance to the point, defenders are unable to even flank enemy cuz there is no chance to. Also Tunisia last point near the river bank between palms, point is located in 2 buildings on 2 floors, this is nonsense to have greyzone in front of this type of point and that close (like 50 meters or so)
That’s the problem, if your team marked or if there is a pilot on your team gray zone tank are very easy to deal with.
Most people on the Allied Pacific are either bots or new players who are still learning the game. They haven’t unlocked late game weapons, and vehicles, or they don’t utilize the marking mechanic.
A good late game vehicle for the Allied is the M8 Scott. It shoots HEAT shell, and can penetrate the camping Ho-I at any distance. If someone on your team have M9 Bazooka, plane or M8 Scott this wouldn’t be an issue.
Camping tank is not so big of a problem as the imbalanced playerbase. This imbalance can only be reduced but not be eliminated entirely upon the merge, and BR update.
If you think with your head, you will always find a way to get a tank from a panzerfaust at least from the other end of the map. Tanks in the game are weak. Only against bots on the tank is ez. Stop nerfing everything! MAKE WP GREAT AGAIN!
Tanks should be forced into the battlefield, I agree. However, you also have to consider how easy it is to kill a tank at close range with explosive packs not just being an option, but the most frequently used grenade in the game. Specifically because they allow ordinary infantry to kill tanks. It makes AT soldiers and other options almost obsolete, especially if they were forced to move out of the greyzone.
As far as paratroopers, HELL NO. Paratroopers are already an extreme problem as they are, let alone if you let them go even further back.
Special Note: If you get proficient with the lob type of AT launchers (Panzerfausts, PIAT, etc, pretty much anything you can set the zeroing distance on), you can kill most tanks at distance with ease. This is because it punches in from the upper armor which is actually pretty thin.
I’ve taken out a lot of Jumbos with the panzerfaust and lots of Tigers with the PIAT in this way.
From pretty long distance. I believe it hit on the flat surface around the top of the body. All I know is that it popped up with the kill and I was about 100m away.
That might mean it was on fire and you just hit it last before it burned down.
I hit a tank with an AT rifle on the front, did nothing, ran off, and like 10 seconds later got the kill confirmation and XP for it.
No, it definitely was not on fire beforehand. It gets the kill upon the shot landing. I’ll see if I have any clips. I’ve done it several times, so it’s not just a coincidence thing.
I just tried aiming center mass then adjusting my aim to hit it from a long distance. Idk if that helps, but its most definitely been done.
Side note: I don’t even bother packing the Bazookas or Ofenrohr anymore. I’d MUCH rather pack a PIAT or Panzerfaust.
I usually don’t have to worry about them getting close when they push up either as I have faith in my AT mine placements. So they only ever are an issue at range anyways. Though I also am an engineer main and use the AT field gun quite a lot too.
I really don’t get all the fuss about the grey zone, I mean I do, but I don’t, it is still very easy to kill tanks in the grey zone, Planes, Tanks AT guns, Mortars, exc… can kill tanks in their spawn let the gray zone.
Personally, I think it’s a bit nuts that every infantry man can kill tanks, would probably play a lot better if just one man per section was capable of doing so, with some kind of proper AT kit, not the death dealing fantasy bundle of TNT that looks like it was pulled from a Lonney Toons cartoon circa 1940
I think, the problem here is a little bit complex… I mean, shooting from grey zone is okay, but shooting enemy spawn and their “second line”, where enemy dont fight, but just moving, is bad. If you have a tank in a grey zone and want to shot enemy, you should be only able to kill enemy in a small sector of fire, and you shouldnt be well-defended by rocks or houses from flanks and sky. Also, from tankers point of view – with their bad visibility, slow and always-stucking moving – its really looks more attractive “to camp” than attack in a first or second line
TNT is well, but needed to be like in Stalingrad campaign. Moreover I hope they will add true AT-grenades like RPG-43 or just a bunch of anti-infantry grenades. Yes, anti-tank grenade now is very powerful.
