I kinda think that opening the playable area would really make BRs completely irrelevant, with more spaced maps rifles would work better versus automatic weapons and light vehicles would gain the special ability to manoeuver fast in key positions, it’s just my theory but yeah… I really would like the game this way tbh, I hate that certain weapons and vehicles exist in their specific BR bubbles, I would rather more sandbox feel to it where every weapon and vehicle matters on their own way. If they were to increase in player count per match that would be easily in reach imo.
In my opinion - decline of game is obvious and remove of grey-zone is just a matter of time.
People (idiots) have always posted two demands - “stop grey-zone tanks” and “remove grey-zone”.
First one (grey-zone tanks) is already confirmed by devs.
Second (complety remove grey-zone) - still demanded by people, because it forces them to actually play the game (push objective) not only spawn-camp like in that game for retards (Hell Let Loose).
In my opinion… decline is unevitable and those might be the last days of Enlisted.
(after they remove grey-zone, game will be only a copy of Hell Let Loose)
The game is already in decline and no, it would never be a copy of hll…
The tank thing is obvious and annoying. As for the grey area… having such a vast map, why limit it? It’s obvious that they have or had something planned to expand.
Personally I think Enlisted has a lot of stuff for such a small space and expanding the map will only give more content.
But hey, as always, people get used to their comfort zone and hate it when someone who doesn’t think the same way suggests something outside that zone, even if it’s for the better.
That’s cute. This isn’t a “me and my team” problem, its a problem in absolutely every game that has fixed spawn points, no matter how many individual spawn points there are. Players will always be able to take advantage of knowing exactly where a person will be when they spawn.
CoD: Spawn camping, spawn trapping, cross map throwing knife kills in the first 2 seconds of the match (dozens of spawns per map, usable by both teams)
Battlefield: Spawn camping, massive cross-map spawn trapping (predetermined Grey-zone spawns)
DayZ: Spawn camping/abusing fresh spawns (hundreds of predetermined spawn points per map, scattered across multiple kilometers of terrain)
It doesn’t make a difference how many predetermined spawn points you add, or how big your map is, as long as the enemy knows you can be at that exact location there will be players to abuse that knowledge.
Then abuse your spawn protection and kill em back
I have literally been running straight towards the objective after spawning and been told the “soldier get back to the battlefield”, so I assume the spawn point was created on the boundary of the grey zone or the map had moved and there was not a straight boundary line as I had to go to the left and then turn towards the objective back to the right, which I thought complete BS as there should be no way you can run straight towards the objective and get that message. So, DF pointlessly confines their maps.
I think the devs use the gray zone for at least a few reasons:
-
Some players are confused by the movement of the cap zone and will stay at the old cap zone, which means less activity in the new area—especially since there are only 10 players per side, max.
-
Without a gray zone perhaps more people will snipe or tank at greater distances from the cap point—again, creating the same problem of less activity at the new cap zone.
-
The Enlisted community is very divisive, so when changes are made to the game not everyone is happy. I remember a lot of players complaining about paratroopers being overpowered when they were introduced into the game since paratroopers can land behind the enemy or on a cap point very quickly. Of course, that’s what they’re supposed to do… and it’s not as if only one team has that advantage since both teams have paratroopers. So it’s almost guaranteed that if the gray zone is removed some players will complain that infantry and tanks are attacking from behind the front line—which, of course, is what we should be able to do.
Heroes and Generals had a huge, open map with no gray zone. Were there confused people all over the map when cap points moved? Yes. However, I don’t think it would change this game very much at all if the gray zone were removed: Those same confused people in this game don’t contribute much to capping points anyway. They’re usually sniping or not doing anything at all—so their participation is already at a minimum. Frankly, I don’t understand the confusion of moving cap points since these type of games have been around for over 25 years, and you still see people doing the same things: A select few who actually push the point, others sniping and tanking, and still others with absolutely no clue what they’re doing.
I think a better solution would be to expand the number of players on each side to 20 or 30, get rid of the gray zone, and see what happens. I think the game would become more challenging and more fun. The activity level in all areas would increase, thus keeping the action alive. Also, get rid of some of the clutter on the maps and fix the terrain so it’s not so uneven so vehicles can travel more easily around the map—and, give vehicles more speed and power so they don’t get stuck and can travel greater distances in less time.
Anyway, that’s my 2¢…
Running straight in gets you killed If you have a laggy connection.
