Grandfather in those of us who unlocked stuff previously

I have researched planes that I cant upgrade because I haven’t researched all the planes they put infront of my unlocked planes when they did the tech tree update. So I literally have to unlock everything in the line even though I was already way ahead? This is insane quite literally, I spent money to unlock these planes in the past, we should have at minimum been grandfathered in to the line and been able to progress from our farthest point. Having to go all the way back and level this early war stuff is extremely frustrating. In general the RP requirements are already nuts and we all know that. I am a war thunder player and eventually the community rallied against them so hard they ended up with mostly negative reviews on steam.

you can upgrade all researched and bought planes before merge. you just need to find squad with that plane so you can grind it.

Somehow my p51 is in an raf squad, but not shown that way on the research screen. It actually looks like they deleted my squad from the game or something weird. I have the 375th Fighter Squadron but when I try to upgrade it says I need an RAF squad, 73rd or something I believe.

you can upgrade plane with 375th fighter squadron

you just need to level up the squad and have points to unlock upgrades.

or you can choose to upgrade it with 73rd squadron

What I WAS saying was that I clicked the button and it directed me to RAF squad for some reason, saying it needed to be bought, but I am now seeing the issue was that I had a dif p51 upgraded in squad upgrades and thats why I couldn’t upgrade this one. It is odd it was sending me to that RAF squad, but I found the issue at least. It def should be saying you need to upgrade the squad, not that you need to research the previous plane in the line. So problem solved I suppose, ty for making me check my squad upgrade screen lol.

it is issue of current squads vs legacy squads. every logic is currently programmed so it defaults to current squads and any logic regarding legacy squads will be ignored.

so the issue is still true that i cannot buy this new plane because i am missing planes before it, so i was not grandfathered into the line, i may have the planes id unlocked, but i still have to research this entire line to get the one ahead of my farthest plane :confused: unfortunate.
