The 1940 African campaign began with the Mers el-Kebir Incident. Or rather, unsuccessful negotiations with the French admiral, which resulted in the sinking of the ships stationed there.
Few people know, but in France the Allies did not fight only with the Germans. In southern vichy france, the allies fought the french.
Same in Africa. In 1940, the English fought not only against the Italians, but also against the French.
It would certainly be interesting. Shooting French uniforms with East Indian troops.

adding vichy france would be complicated along with ally france and maybe politically very controversial. Petain and vich era still seen as dark period in modern france. but couple of french volunteers of werhmacht as premium suqad would work fine
It started with the sinking of the French fleet by the British. But never mind. It will be funny for the French to shoot at the French.
