Can we get some more variety? Who had the brilliant idea of adding all these SMGs over the past 2-3 years.
Yeah there’s a few gold order rifles and stuff, but not a single machinegun, not a single AT rifle, not a single equipment (grenade ect / maybe poison gas canister as a gold order grenade? Maybe a unique mortar that shoots white phosphorus? ect ect
SMGs are the only weapon class worth using, apparently. They can afford add trash “variety” for people to waste their time grinding through and trying to use, but when there’s money on the line you have to offer what sells.
It isn’t just lack of weapon variety, the entire system is rotten through and through. Starting with the very basic gameplay.
The reason is that gold cards are very rare… So ppl when facing the choice of the meta arm (smg) or some nice unique but odd weapon of another class, will most likely pick the meta one.
They make their choice count.
Sure, you could buy the rest with gold but… 750 gold per arm? Eh, no thanks.
There is the RMN-50 in moscow. Grenade launcher/ handheld mortar that only an AT guy can handle.
I don’t disagree that I would like to see some more variety and less SMGs. HOWEVER, definitely no any kind of white phosphorous/ poison gas type of stuff. Its already breaking the game entirely in its current state.
I’m all for different rifles, MGs, AT weapons, even pistols (a .357 or .44 revolver for US Allies for example).
80mm mortars on campaigns that don’t otherwise have them maybe?
I remember at one point seeing a prototype version of the Browning M1919A6 that hooked up to a backpack ammunition feed. Perhaps it takes the place of backpack slot as well and just gives a single 300 round magazine. (If killed it cannot be picked up unless backpack slot is free.) Give an equivalent to the Axis side as well.
Oooh you’re mistaken my friend! The RMN can be used by riflemen as well. It was true when they first released it but gave the ability to riflemen afterwards.
Such an hilarious weapon. Kill myself with it more than I kill enemies… Got it on all Soviet campaigns available and still use it with pride!
Interesting. Good to know. Personally if I have riflemen at all I give them the backpack upgrade and a large backpack full of medkits. Surprisingly effective. However, giving it to riflemen seems like that could get rather OP quickly, but I rarely use Axis on Moscow, so I wouldn’t know.
there are rifles,rmn50, semi autos , and “mgs” now …
the issue is we, as community embrace the SMG’s way more and do talk more about them, and rifles, semi’s and so on, even tho some are great, dont get much attention or usage.
Just a small correction: the PC community embraces the SMGs way more and talk more about them.
The console side of the community seems to embrace MGs and rifles more.
I’m not trying to stir up trouble, just wanted to make sure that this difference was noted.
the problem is just simply that gold order weapons would need to be “special”
and a gold order bolt action that doesn’t perform better than its regular counterparts have no right existing.
However, here is an Idea that I think could work for MGs, there were different types of Mg34s with different rates of fire, like “infantry versions” and “anti aircraft versions”.
So a German MG that doesn’t empty its drum in 2 seconds would be something worth spending money on.
more accurate, but slower rate of fire MG34 gold order
For the most part I agree with you, the only thing that i partially disagree with is:
It depends on what your definition of “performing better” is. Obviously stats are included, but just because it doesn’t excel at close range and have a high reload speed for example, doesn’t make it worthless. The Berdan II for example has started to grow on me a bit. It’s slower for sure, but if I hit someone AT ANY RANGE (which it has very little deviation if any making that easier), they are gone. That’s a pretty nice trade-off to me.
