as topic russian planes have way to little payloads. the planes with most payloads are 2 250kg or 6 100kg or 4 100kg and 4 rockets. Where as german have 6 250kg and americans have 10 hvar rocket and 1 500lb. fighter have the same problem. 200 rounds of 20mm and 2 100 kg is just not enough compare to f190a8 and p51 with 2 250 kg

The effective tank kill radius is way different though
TBH those are simply historical loadouts
Only in reality those three meters keep you away from the bomb)
And yes, the problems are still there - the Soviets don’t have a decent 5 br air force

It’s almost as if the soviet planes prioritized making two kinds of ground-attack planes without any in-betweens.
Single-engine CAS with ~600kg payloads intended for CAS or two/four-engine bombers intended for strategic bombing.
The US and German fighters strapping their fighters with otherwise larger-than-normal bombs is an accident of their stronger-built airframes and more powerful engines allowing them to serve as ground-support craft when deemed a necessity.
The soviets are stuck with light fighters that may or may not be made of wood, have limited capacity for more powerful engines until late into the war, and are designed specifically for dogfighting, with most having extremely light payloads, or purpose-built CAS planes like the IL and SUs that were intended to be used in larger quantities and built with the aforementioned payload limits for economic reasons due to their high attrition rate.

Havent really noticed any significant differency is it 50kg or 250kg bomb.
Both requites pretty much direct hit to destroy tank.
Both are also quite crappy what comes to killing infantry.
They can add the Tu-2 which can carry 6 250kg bombs, the Pe-2 can also carry 2 250kg bombs and 10 132mm rockets, it used to have the rockets but they got replaced with the 6 100kg bombs.
There are too many soviet aircraft with the same 6 100kg bomb load, its very repetitive and it makes planes such as the Sb-2 and Pe-2 useless since the Su-2 does everything better than them.
Soviet fighters are light and small, they were made as pure fighters with the ability to mount small bombs or rockets if needed, there is the Yak-9B that could be added which can carry 4 100kg bombs in a bomb bay.
There is also the lend lease P-47, but I have a feeling someone will cry too much about it.

Personally I don’t think the Su-8 would be fun to use at all, you’d just get deleted after one run 80% of the time with no recourse
Although I do agree soviet ground attack options are kind of meh at this point
Personally i think it would be nicer if we got a different IL-10 loadout option, it has so much more engine, but only gets a single bomb drop, meanwhile most of other IL2s barely fly with all the ordnance strapped to them

I agree that the SU-8 would basically be a sitting duck against all threats, and hard to use in air-to-ground.
But that would IMO be a fair tradeoff if given enough firepower, let’s assume the 4x45mm and 10xRBS-132. Rockets rather than bombs because they’re easier to adjust aim with, with such a heavy plane.
There’s enough demand for the attacker plane slot to have it filled most of the time, so frequent rotation through SU-8 players may alleviate some of the problems that come with all the built-in limits in the game.
And having the ordnance quantity outlined would allow for very high uptime for players who defend themselves successfully, offering a high skill ceiling (The extent to which A2A depends on skill is debatable, but you get what I mean).
Bf 110s survive plenty of gun/rocket runs, Same for JU188s and other heavies. I dont understand what ppl are even talking about here.
Yes heavy planes dont survive against nimble fighters.
50% of the time planes in Enlisted do 1 attack run before you rinse/die/repeat.
Gib cool flavorful aircraft with solid warload. I can name a bunch; Id gladly pay for them but I have nothing of interest beyond some 2x50kg bombs on Soviet air to consider

Im sorry, but the Ju 188 can dogfight mediocre P-38 pilots and the Bf110 can definitely beat a P47 if the P47 is not careful
Su-8 barely stays afloat, apparently at full power it flies about as well as the 110 with one engine
It would handle SIGNIFICANTLY worse than the useless Pe veriants almost no one uses

I fly the darn thing in WT, I have no issue pointing it at other aircraft and deleting them in .25 seconds.
However like the OP point; Id like HEAVY CAS option for Enlisted and 4 rockets or 500kg is max available for Soviets currently.
IM FINE WITH ANY OTHER OPTION, IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE SU-8; ITS A GUNSHIP; STOP TELLING ME HOW WARLOAD IS BAD WHEN MY POINT IS MOAR WARLOAD.
