Since it’s already in the game, why not allow the USSR to use the 1928a1 Thompson from the USA tech tree. It’s historically correct, since they were given as aid through the lend lease program during the early stages of WW2.
In fact AI red army soldiers already have Thompson 1928A1 on Stalingrad maps.
Lol, funny! Not for me.
They would probably be more appropriate for Moscow.
*Old Stalingrad pass legacy
You can never get them now
but nothing can’t be change
Because they have enough of our stuff and our stuff we don’t even have
Cool, didn’t realize that was an old legacy squad. Maybe it’ll come back at some point, seems like it would just be easier to make the Thompson a tech tree weapon for the USSR. Right now the box mag ppsh is the only BR3 tech tree option last time I checked.
Wasn’t Stalingrad Thompson M21/28 same as the Tunisia’s thompson (As far as I remember the only 2 campaigns pre-merge which had M21/28 were Tunisia and Stalingrad)
They are the same which meant you could transfer them from one theater to the othere.
So the guns from this particular squad, did they have the vertical foregrip? I’ve never seen an original picture of a Soviet lend lease Thompson without a horizontal grip/handguard. This does not include the previously added (Thompson 100) NKVD event squad. Those were not lend lease guns.
This thompson was the one in stalingrad which is model21/28
Ok yeah, so that’s the same exact model that you can still use for the US now.
Wrong Thompson varient, that was the M21/28, a BR4 Thompson
He is requesting the M1928a1, a BR3 Thompson
Yes the M21/28 was in both Stalingrad and Tunisia, you could transfer them in these campaigns.
Then after the merge in Stalingrad Soviet AI squads often came equipped with Thompson M1928A1.
It’s been awhile it’s not my fault I’m not a whale and Gajin decided to remove campaigns before people who paid for the pass could use to it’s full extent.
I can’t believe they made the Russians face an early model STG with a Thompson like if it was any better😭
I bought about 20 M21/28s before the BR system because they would not be able to be bought in the future, but they are mothballed in the warehouse.
The USSR has submachine guns that are powerful enough, so it may be better to distribute them at events.
Usually I would argue to stay away from too many copy guns so that factions stay unique - soviets do lack variety tho, so why not?
I still like the idea of letting players keep X amount of enemy weapons they pick up on the battlefield, a limited amount of weapons. Like maybe two smg’s, two mg’s and two rifles. DF would just have to set a limit as to how many total you can own. So, if you’re playing as a level five German and you happen to pick up an M2 Stinger, bingo, you add it to your captured inventory and now you can use it on the battlefield in future games.
