Give points for successful "regroup/ retreat" on defense

More often than not my teammates seem to be overextending quite extremely. So much so that when the objective changes, we can’t get enough people to hold the next point because they are still so deep in enemy territory.

What I am suggesting is incentivizing pulling back, at least out of the flashing greyzone area. If they make it back with that squad, they get some points. The hope is that for more guaranteed points they will pull back and help with the crucial moments between objectives, rather than be trying to get points in an area they no longer have reason to be in.

Because shooting is more fun :man_shrugging:. I don’t think they care about points, mate. Obviously they don’t care about winning either.

Works in BF so why not.

And point for breathing too no ?

Ironicly this is exactly the behaviour that grants you the extra time to build your fortnite castle.

Depends if its nose or mouth breathing.

Lovely idea. I agree.

in 90 % of the cases it’s definitely not worth to retreat. You’ll probably be cought in the middle + it will be hard to find good spots for building a rally. Better to bleed tickets and fighting advancing troops.

However - an aware player always checks the minimap. If your teammates just spawned around the just losed objective, there’s maybe a sitution to retreat.

Otherwise you’ll have to relay to your teammates doing their job around the new objective (setting up a rally etc.).

Not that that’s the case every time though

The issue I am CONSTANTLY running into though is that the teammates are running around the sides or past an objective, lose it, and then are out there trying to scrape a couple kills instead of being an obstacle to the enemy or helping defend the next objective.

If it was incentivized at least people would have to decide if its more worth staying there for a couple kills or running back across a line, putting them in a better position to help defend, and getting the equivalence of points PLUS getting kills along the way.

In addition to this suggestion, I would like the ability to have a half-destroyed squad retreat to the default spawn point to be replaced by another squad and recover their troops.
The current system where you are never allowed to retreat even if you are the last man standing and have to fight until you are wiped out is like all factions are led by the Japanese. :rage:
A successful retreat will result in some reimbursement for depleted tickets.

My issue there is that then you would constantly have people pulling back even with the active objective where it is, just so they can try to have a better K/D. That part is gonna have to be a no from me.

I’m not sure if this is the solution, but something needs to be done about the “flow of battle” in Invasion/Destruction modes.

Right now the only cohesive defense can occur on the first point. After that it’s a mad scramble to see who has more sprint stamina to the next point(s). <<<this right here is a problem, multiple objectives

When I know exactly where the objective is going to go next, I pull back and start fortifying. This at least gives our team a chance to catch up while the enemy is slowed down. The only problem is if its going to pull back to an area that it could go to one of two areas. Then I have to guess and if I’ve guessed wrong, its a bunch of time and resources out the window.

I know a bunch of people will tell me just to play the objective instead, but especially with White Phosphorus being how it is, another couple bodies on the front line won’t make a difference. What will however is if the next front line is much more inherently hazardous for the enemy.

That’s what needs to be fixed though. For gameplay sake, we shouldn’t have to choose between defending the current objective and prepping the next one (like you said, if you guess correctly)

imo there needs to be a “fall-back timer” that prevents attackers from advancing and allows at least some squads to fall back while the rest provide a rear-guard action or whatever it is they want to do.

Well, why not? Forwarded.

Thank you!

I really like the idea, but you’re forgetting one important thing: this game is no longer about objectives, is about killing and destroying enemies in order to grind and to get points to be “the best F2P player”…
I mean, don’t get me wrong, there a lot of people that still follow the objectives and help the team in different ways (I’d like to include myself on this group), but in most cases all they wanna do is fill their squads with assault troops and go brrrrr against the enemy team

Because there isn’t much incentive to do otherwise unless (like me) you like a little RP in your FPS.

That’s up to the game itself to direct the players in way that is subliminal. Reason #1 why I am hopeful for the “revamp”

Yeah of course, I’m defitinely not blaming players for this (actually if you don’t grind you’ll never advance in the campaigns). But the game should tell 'em indirectly about falling back in order to defend the next point, and man, do we have so many ways to promote this…

Actually, I’ve gotten majority of my levels through winning, as you gain an extra 50% xp for the win.

Yeah, but in order to win you need to grind or put some efforts into the match
