Give M24 "Chaffee" APCBC ammo

Hell no!

It stays br2. But should have good shells.

We see weird stuff like overtiered hanomag or marder for axis, mainly because of boos only looking at the shell pen value and nothing else. I’m against it.

We see pretty much every TD in game being overtiered because of that same reason “but the gun is powerful uwuwuwu” ( but paper armour, no turret, open top, slow, no lmg…)

I’ll be against overtiering the Chaffee. If it goes up, then ALL other vehicles should as well by that logic.

I has terrible turret traverse speed and gun elevation speed (idk how is that called, I jusr woke up)

Even with new ammo, it’s still going to be worse than m8 Scott. Especially because of way worse reload speed.

That’s what I’m saying. It would make Chaff better, but not op by a long shot contrary to what some boos claim…

Are we playing the same game? All panzer 4’s in BR2 have 50mm of frontal armor, and all the panzer 3’s have 53mm of frontal armor. Hell, even the panzer iiij has 53mm and it’s BR1, i won’t mention the BR3 tanks because it’s irrelevant to BR2, speaking of which stop using the KV1 as justification. It’s BR3 which means marder can be BR3 as well. Even the puma has more armor than chaffee.

Also, the chaffees HE is almost identical to that of Germany’s short 75 HE rounds. So nothing changes there.

I just changed my mind on M24 after buying that tank and playing a three matches.
Now i agree with people’s opinion in this thread that it should get APCBC shells. Why?

  1. It’s reload is much slower than American 57mm/40mm while your pen of AP is the same as them. It’s also way worse at killing infantry than M8 Scott
  2. German long 50mm/short 75mm/long 76mm are all superior vs M24’s cannon with way better shells and reload speed and at BR2.
  3. You have just 21 AP rounds that can barely kill any tank you encounter
  4. You have zero armor and yet you are way taller than Crusader
  5. Ho-I, Puma, Pz3N, Pz3J1 all have APC/APCBC or HEAT rounds that instantly murder your glass cannon tank. We also can’t forget about Marder III that has as much armor as you while even better cannon and shell as you.
  6. it’s especially painful to play vs Te-Se that thing don’t want to die vs AP shells and you need to switch to your very limited HE rounds and it won’t kill it in a single hit.
  7. You struggle a lot in uptiers or even if someone brings Stalingrad PZ3N with better armor.

Biggest pro of that tank is the mobility you climb Pacific hills with ease but then you will struggle to take out Japanese truck since you don’t have APHE.
