Literally every single class can equip it, even pilots. There’s no reason to make them the special exception, especially since they’re VOLKSSTURM UNITS

Absolutely, I mean by the same metric, it would be fun for german pilots to use the M30 drilling as well. It is in no way game breaking or meta defining as both are rather mediocre at best weapons.
However both could provide just that little extra hint of immersion.

Agreed and I agree with @Willcario’s main point as well.
Enlisted really has flawed logic:
Volksturm soldiers cant use Volksturm rifle
Luftwaffe pilots cant use Luftwaffe Drilling.
An American unit has Australian Owen guns
The Australian unit has American Ithaca shotguns.

You are forced to wear a fur hat and Volkssturm armband in Tunisia but you can’t use Volkssturm weapon
