Right now bolt actions and semi autos are pegged to the same ammo count of 30. While it usually is plenty for a bolt action, there are occasions where you run out, and since they are generally at the bottom of the totem pole as far as rifles go, I think giving them a something of a bump up in this regard would be a positive way to give them a bit more situations where they are a good option without really disturbing over balance much, and hey, one of the main advantages of the striper clips most bolt actions use is that they are cheap and light, so you could carry a bunch of them.

All weapons in general no matter what type of weapon it is should get more ammo. They shouldn’t balance weapon by how many ammo they get.

hense why you someone should build ammo boxes. But heres a trick for you guys who dont know. You can ask your squad mates for more ammo infinite for your squads main weapons when youre dry

How ever to add, bolt rifles isnt that bad even on later games. I sometimes rly miss my Kar at long ranges when using the semi action ones. Ex Kar is much better at long ranges in my opinion and always have one on the back for those who can carry one extra
Don’t get me wrong I don’t think they’re unusable, just that they can afford to be a bit stronger than they are. Yes they’re great at long range, but due to the way the game works, long range engagements in general are of somewhat lower value, so why not let them pop a bit more heads if you actually survive long enough to do it?

Honestly i think its plenty as you can use ammo pounces and engineers to place ammo.
Also consider the semi autos and bolt-action’s mostly one shot or down people so 30 rounds of ammunition is enough for me.
Also one engineer can place 3 ammo boxes.

I am specifically concerned with the comparison between manual and semi auto rifles here. I don’t think semi autos need more shots, they frankly deserve to be able to run out of ammo if you spam them at nothing.
no just no there to powerful to have more ammo and we dont need any more campers not on the objective
Sad FG42 noises… It is no longer wastedwoodsmans archenemy. Somehow bolt action rifles took its place.

Heh. Crates are for SMG and LMG operators, mostly.
As for standart pouch ammo capacity (often soldiers carry more rounds in backpack).
Carcano - 42 rounds (1 pouch for 6 clips)
Enfield M17/Spriengfield M1903 - 105 rounds (10 pockets for two clips on the belt)
SMLEs - 50 or 70 rounds depend on pouch type (2X 2 or 3 pocket type)
German mausers - 70 rounds (2X M1912 pouch for two clips each)
Mosins and Winchester M1895 - from 25 to 45 rounds (depend on pouch type)
MAS-36 - 45 rounds
Mannlicher M1895 - 45 rounds
VG-2 - 50 rounds (using 2X G43 pouches)
Berdan-2 - 21 round
Pretty sure the intent was implying that giving more ammo to the FG42 would be a bad idea.
