Ghillie suit's? we ever gonna see em?

now that im thinking about it i don’t think iv seen any troop in a ghillie suit :face_with_raised_eyebrow: not even a sniper…

AI would still see you.
But then sniper squads in Moscow do have a small advantage as their uniforms are (mostly) white which is quite usefull against players on most maps (and the reason why i actually use them there).

i thought they changed the AI’s targeting algorithm so it didn’t do that fire blindly through 8 acres of brush straight to a headshot crap anymore

Then it’s working

lol :joy: i needed that laugh

I think the white is bad for them. Stand out like dogs nuts in the mostly urban settings. One glance and you know what they are. In any case I have no issues swing them.

yea being serious here now, they could add the ghillie suit to the “Equipment Delivery” as something you could equip in the backpack slot because you don’t really ever see soldiers equipping pouches or backpacks while wearing a ghillie suit since it makes them stand out more, which is counter productive to wearing a ghillie suit.

any source that shows gillie suit was a thing? I know Germans had a form of camoflage suit but it wasnt a gillie. I dont recall any other snipers wearing more than camo Helms or capes.

Even if they did, it would be a recon squad, not snipers.

heres a photo of a ww2 japanese machine gunner in a gillie o.o’ they were used quite frequently by lots of soldiers in area’s that had a lot of brush

and a sniper in a gillie

paratrooper in a gillie

now that im looking at all the different gillie suits the devs could probably make 2 versions of the suit for the equipment a “Light gillie suit” that has a few twigs and a little bit of brush from the area your in and it wouldn’t hamper your speed, and a “Full gillie suit” that would have lots of sticks twigs and brush from the area your in to provide the best stealth when hiding in the environment but would reduce your movement speed a bit, the 1st suit could be a less expensive lower level item and the 2nd suit could be a higher level item like how they separate the small packs and large packs

that’s what I mean. those aren’t really ghillie suits. That’s just make shift camo (branches, strips of bags, and leaves) slapped onto a standard uniform

The only exception being the German sniper face mask which isn’t gillie either.

Camo Im up for, guess Im just being pedantic about it being a “gillie” suit

that’s what a gillie suit was back then though o.o’ a mesh sheet that you put pieces of your environment in to wear as camouflage, some were full body and others just covered a small bit of their exposed parts like head and upper body like that german sniper face mask

perhaps I am wrong. Always thought a gillie suit was an individual outfit, not the term for adding bits and pieces of camo to your uniform.

in modern times yea its been refined to “A Wearable Suit” but its origins were quite simple, basically bits and pieces of those crappy sports shirts with the holes all over them, cut a single shirt down the sides and its long enough to cover your entire upper and lower body, ghetto but effective none the less

Not sure what is the point of it as game has a kill cam If you want to use it just to blend in and direct artillery/mortar you don’t need a suit for that already.

what if a bonus to wearing the full ghillie suit was you didn’t show up on enemy kill cam o.o’

would be useful AF then eh?

almost as useful as a backpack, grenade pouch, ammo bag or extra primary weapon right?
