Gewehr 43 Kurz to Assault Class

The Gewehr 43 Kurz is an old gold order weapon. It is an experimental select fire Gewehr 43 chambered in the intermediate 7.92x33 Kurz and use Stg magazines. I think this weapon should be removed from the Riflemen class and moved to the Assault since it is basically an assault rifle. Weapon classes should be distinct

This is a very simple change

by the same logic, the volksturmgewehr 1-5 should be an assault weapon?

which funnily enough, primarily it used to be a rifleman weapon. then for a long time, was switched to an assault weapon.

and no one used it ( beside fanatics for the volkssturm larping like me ) so they opted ( after years of begging from the community ) to return it as a rifleman weapon.

so, no. it’s based on the g43, and it should remain a rifleman weapon.

An assault rifle is a select fire gun chambered in an intermediate cartridge.

The VG is technically basically a rifle, not in the full powered sense, but rifle in that it’s a shoulder fired infantry weapon. Of coarse the history of firearms is long and convoluted. So it is a rifle that is chambered in an intermediate round.

If we ever get the automatic version of the VG that would be an assault rifle

The FG 42 is an automatic rifle. Sure people may argue but LMG this or that, but it is an automatic rifle in that it is a select fire shoulder fired infantry rifle chambered in a rifle round.

There exists prototype FG 42s chambered in Kurz. That would make it an assault rifle. Yes it is based on a rifle, but it is an evolution into an assault rifle

Terrible suggestion. No thanks.

It’s just spam, I don’t see any suggestion.

I have G43Ks and I don’t mind. I’m suggesting it in the first place! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

the other issue is,

changing things after their introduction unless from TT, doesn’t often get seen as a good move.

especially since people may have bought it with real money.

in my case, i ( rarely now days ) use the g43 kurtz on the rider class. to give it it’s edge. running it both on my engineer and anti tank trooper. perhaps a waste no doubt.

but the main reason why many people got it, was and it’s because it can be given to most classes and it’s easier ( id imagine ) to grind some squads with it.

opposed as getting the weapon changed ( once more ).

no gold orders in history have been touched. yet the g43 kurts was the only one.
( personally, i really don’t care. as i said, i don’t even use this weapon extensively. i’m having fun with my luftwaffe line up )

i can however, simpatize with those who were upset by the changes.

so, as far at it goes, imo gold orders should be weapons that could be used by all classses. but we both know that ain’t a good idea. so it’s fine if some have been reduced to other classes.

as it goes for this g43, i wouldn’t necessarily disagree, if it wasn’t for the fact that…
changing things that people bought so drastically is not a good move.

if it were to come in the future, then we might had an angreement. but years later? eh…

Its still better than the ones where its just a spam of random weapon images with a title like “add plz”, no background info on the weapon, no firing characters, not even a single fucking line of text.

You make good points. In my view I think its fine because anyone will still be able to use it they want to, just in a different class setup.

I think it is good to refine things. The burst was fantasy. Sure some may argue “but this game is already fantasy” but its about different lines. I may not care that we have a bunch of prototypes running around but I at least think they should be represented properly.

I also think the Gorov LMG should be made an LMG because it literally is and yet they made it a rifle

Shouldn’t have been ahistorically represented in the first place

Why do people keep using this as an excuse for something not being an assault rifle… It doesn’t make any sense, definitions apply regardless of context, the thing is the thing it is no matter what it was made from.
By using this logic the Pedersen device M1903 can’t be a pistol caliber carbine because it’s a modified M1903 which is a bolt action rifle chambered in a full power rifle cartridge

Correct

What the hell does this even mean?

He means that it was silly of the devs to make the G43K burst fire in the first place. Thus starting the issue of people being upset they changed it

Well, it’s not like he’s concerned about correct classification of weapons.

Otherwise he would not talk only about G43k, but about stuff like Gorov MG, Federov and so.

He just want to deliberately nerf the weapon with the ill intention to trigger majority of current owners of G43k.

That’s literally all. It’s not suggestion, it’s just rage bait.

This thread is only about the G43K. I have made a thread about the Gorov before as well as jabbing it in whenever its relevant. The Federov should be moved to the auto rifle class; but at the same time we are debating about automatic rifles and if they should be moved to the assault class

I figure one issue at a time

But that has nothing to do with historicity… It has to do with mechanical accuracy

It should never have been added with the burst fire. Period.

Nah, you are being just intellectually dishonest. You want to ruin day for people who actually paid with real money to get this weapon.

You don’t really care about the classification, you want this gun to be nerfed. You want this weapon to be used only by assaulters.
If you actually cared about classification, you would propose changing only the ingame classification, but with the understanding that the weapon would retain its unique property of being able to be used by non-assault soldiers.
Btw it wouldn’t be the first weapon with similar a unique feature (VG 1-5, M1E5 and so…)
