Gewehr 41 sniper rifle

So, I bought the Gewehr 41 sniper rifle premium squad with the hopes that his second weapon I could add would be the Gewehr 41 rifle, but much to my dismay, no such luck. And, since no Gewehr 41 sniper rifle is offered in the tech tree, and wanting to keep this squad level 3 I am forced to either carry a lower level bolt action rifle, or a lower level sniper rifle. Why in the hell is the Gewehr not an option for him to carry? What would be the reason “in real life” that he would be disallowed to carry two Gewehr 41’s as the only difference is the scope? of course, in real life I could just take the scope off during the battle if I needed, but that is not an option here. It makes zero sense, but then again, with the DEV’s when does it make sense? This is stupid IMOP. Sure, I can use the Gewehr 43 sniper rifle and take the scope off, but that pushes me to level 5 since it’s a level 4 weapon. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I can get away with this with my allies since I can take the scope off one M1 Garand Sniper rifle and use as a simple M1 Garand thus allowing my sniper to be a rifleman and a sniper as needed. To be honest, there should also be zero reason a US Sniper who is carrying an M1 sniper rifle should not be able to carry the base M1 Garand.

Well, you can remove scope from sniper G41 and use BA sniper rifle.

I guess the devs thought a G41 was already kind of a rare gun - a scoped version was pretty much a fantasy weapon. So to speak the devs wanted to mimic that Soviets had more access to self loading rifles and fielded them even super early in the war.

That being said, scoped STGs MKBs and FGs were also pretty much fantasy weapons.

German scoped automatic weapons never really existed, pretty much only G43 and Kar98k were actually fielded with a acope.

Which is funny because Soviets don’t have low BR semi auto rifles unlike Germany and the US.

What I did for now was take the scope off the G41 and give them level 2 Kar sniper rifles. This works, but defeats the purpose of the semi auto sniper rifle. :joy:
