Maybe. But most planes that get shot down are when they are returning to rearm…they have no idea the guy is on their six…the only real difference without aim assists, is the guy would have to wait to close the gap ever so slightly instead of sniping
Yes, basically no difference at all. It just takes a little bit more time.
That’s why I think it’s completely unnecessary.
This whole topic is pointless because you can already do this stuff in customs if you set it up properly and stop trying to bring this to public matches
I would rather have realistic rocket and bomb spread for aircraft.
I’m 99% sure it would actually DECREASE the challenge factor.
I’m pretty sure I’d be fine. I also do not think you realise what it would do to the balance of airplanes…Half of them are barely viable as-is, despite being the best flying machines the WW2 engineers were capable of building, courtesy of the phonebooth boxing meta. Turnfight monsters would become almost unbeatable, as currently baiting/dodging is fully viable (do you want me to show you how it’s done?), but it carries the inherent risk of showing your ass to the enemy. With no lead indicator, you will be able to dodge any speedbois, then just go chase them down until they run out of the tiny map, stick your guns up their ass and blow them up.
Freelook back? Listen for enemy engines? That’s what I do 100% of the time I’m flying - anytime I’m outbound, I’m an owl with elephant ears. It’s hilarious to see a guy coming in hot as shit do a shocked pikachu → crash into the ground just because you turned around prematurely and dove under him
And if people can “snipe” you at massive range, that means you are just flying in a straight ass line → you don’t need any lead indicators for that kind of shot anyway lol
That has nothing to do with aim assist, the overheat is most likely due to using aa against infantry.
They just don’t bother to remove it after it’s shooting angle was limited.
The quad barrel being removed is most likely due to dev decided to add single barrel aa gun.
possible…but that hasn’t been a thing for “ages” and overheat is still here. I cant even remember if the overheat came after the angle change, or before.
People complain about planes being too strong. What’s wrong with making it more skill based and allowing dogfights to actually matter lol. WT players have an advantage coming here I have no idea what you’re yapping about them relying on 3rd person camera and not knowing how to maneuver. It seems like your knowledge of WT players is almost non-existent.
In Enlisted, people win air fights cause the game tells them where to aim, the maneuvering comes second. Fixes that skill gap that most people would need to learn by flying. They can easily add more AA options and your yapping about getting better at flying is just nonsense and not relevant. I’m sure most WT players will just crap on you’re flying cause you seem to forget that War Thunder was an air combat game first.
because it makes dogfights…matter less? When the enemy can’t hit you, it doesn’t matter how badly you fly. Right now you need to fly PERFECTLY, every single time, without physically present where the enemy can shoot at you or you will take damage or die
Your insistence on crying about people knowing there to aim keeps telling me you are just bad at flying and keep showing them your ass, because you are just used to people missing and that’s your strat for “outskilling” them
Yeah, they will come in, realise they can’t sideclimb for 10 minutes and die. WT RB habits are more likely to get you killed in Enlisted than you can imagine…it’s just like 5 vocal people who no-lifed RB and now babyrage over their extremely specific skills not giving them a massive advantage in a game hundreds of thousands of people play
Its fine that you like the aim assist, your entitled to that opinion, same as those that dont. Just leave it at that.
Everything else is just “pure” speculation on your behalf. You have a lot to say about something you have next to no experience with.
Your experience begins and ends at “arcade mode”. So commenting outside that is irrelevant.
And your stupid claims on how it somehow would “promote dogfighting skill” (despite the fact that it would most probably do exactly the opposite) are somehow not speculation?
Plus, I’m not the one coming in and demanding changes (with rather…lacking…arguments). So maybe “just leave it at that”, huh?
Please, tell me, how many air RB matches are fought under 1500m ceiling? I’m guessing you’d need a scientific notation to denote the tiny fraction (to not have ten pages of just zeroes after the decimal point), if it’s not literally ZERO
Stupid claim? Thats like saying “taking the trainer wheels off your kids bike doesn’t promote your kid’s ability to learn to ride”…its a “training device”…one that takes a vital aspect out if the equation…until its taken off, it inhibits your ability to truly learn to ride.
use your common sense
If you “had” actually “played” more than a dozen battles of “any” RB, you would realize that comparing enlisted to Air RB is stupid. You would compare it to ground RB where CAS is dominant form of planes and all Air fighting is low altitude. Going by your profile, It wouldn’t be a stretch to suggest you probably never even got to try it.
And as enlisted has compressed everything, visual range, render range, performance, it ends up looking very similar proportionately.
But by all means, carry on with your “pointless” atempt to call bullshit when you got nothing.
I dont know what your beef is, but you would have done better to say:
“I think aim assist is fine, but maybe the range on it could be lowered, or not show up off screen”" and left it at that. Perfectly respectable opinion worth discussing. Anything after that, was irrelevant and a bit blow hard.
WHAT ARE YOU YAPPING about lmfao? I’ve never heard claims like these before where having aim assist means it’s more skill-intensive. I want whatever you are smoking my man, cause it’s got you on Mars before Elon Musk.
Keep huffin that stuff I guess, I didn’t think asking for aiming cursor would trigger some people but you are on some other level for sure.
Except your analogy is flawed, because fighting in the air has 2 components:
- Maneuvering
- Shooting accurately
By giving everyone an equal, raised floor on shooting accurately, the only real difference letting you win a fignt is your pure flying/maneuvering skill.
So you need to be BETTER at flying to beat people.
Newbies will be bad at both, but at least, if you fuck up, or they rat you (time their spawn right) they will have a chance to kill you. Which might keep them trying and learning to be better
A more accurate analogy would be this:
You are the kid on the left, and angry other kids got similar bikes for the race
Says the lil bro allcapsing.
Do you still not realise that anyone being able to hit you if you fly into their guns forces you to have extreme situational awareness, superior positioning and maneuvering in a way that keeps you both out of their line of fire AND working to get a shot at them, at all times?
Being allowed to be sloppy half the time would be so much fucking easier
…you just said the exact same thing.
Maneuvering = peddling/steering
Shooting = Balance (training wheels/aim assist)
LOLOL everyone gets the same bike …with or without the indicator…that’s the constant, not the variable (the variable is the rider) LOL
Anyway, that’s enough of that. its just getting too stupid. peace
Just a reminder to any moderator who actually reads this stuff we already have this stuff in customs so don’t forward this to DF
And customs means nothing to the main game.
Exactly and it should stay there instead of bringing it to public matches
Why? So everyone can have training wheels?
