That’s a progression issue. Not a pay to win issue. Premium time squad slots are, though, as you can’t progress towards them.
I would only slightly agree on 2 vehicle crews being an advantage…and only very slightly because it would be hugely situational. Name one situation where it would matter outside of vehicles
No, the vehicle squads are nowhere near situational. If you want to play only with vehicles you need the extra vehicle squads to not be forced to play infantry.
Mortar squad - it’s very useful in Invasion but not so much in Conquest, especially on urban maps. And before the discussion about mortar cheesines etc. starts - yes, I also support their nerf (by forcing them out of protection zone).
You aren’t going to get to play only vehicles with only 2 available at one time. You either get it and make it last or someone else is going to spawn it and your second spawn will be locked and useless to you. There’s no way getting around playing infantry
That is assuming some other player takes up the slot. That doesn’t always happen, especially considering those two slots are only for tanks. There is a third slot for attacker/bomber planes, and a fourth for fighter planes. If you got all vehicle types in your lineup, you are practically guaranteed to find an empty slot to fill up.
If choice of squads is some sort of a meta tool you use to achieve victory, then good for you I guess. If that is the case, you could describe in details how exactly do you use that to stomp opposing team. Otherwise it’s just something you think you can do, or something you are wasting time on.
I have premium and practically don’t use more than 2-3 squads spawns per match, in total. My infantry squads are usually those that I want to upgrade, it doesn’t matter what they are. The tank is the one that I have, the plane is some fighter or what ever I have unlocked. I have no idea how would I play some sort of meta game with spawning a specific squad to counter some specific threat, which by the time you spawn and get to the place, is most likely already gone.
The only meta I’m aware of is spawning in plane and revenge bombing, but for that, the plane should be spawnable - aka you are the only guy who wants to fly right now. So it is very situational and more of a luck than a strategy.

It isn´t likely that this system will just go away I´m afraid. The best we can do is to lower damage it caused, that is why I proposed following suggestion (link below).
The amount of advantage that active squad slots are giving you is undeniable (except for few people willing to defend these practices to the last breath.)
We need to make devs and gaijin more aware of options and suggestions that would be more consumer friendly without lowering their profits considerably.

That doesn’t come from premium… You buy those slots separately. With premium you have 2 vehicles slots, meaning 1 tank 1 plane, or 2 planes.
We are talking about P2W in general, not only about premium time.
True. But those slots are not obtainable for free, in a practical sense. The first one costs 490 gold and is infantry only. The second one is 990 gold. You can get a max of 100 gold per battle pass for free. Good luck grinding for those. If they were more accessible for free, that would work as a solution for this issue for me.
Again snipers can be attached to nearly any squad
Bombers can be attached to any squad
Planes aren’t going to bother you inside
Mortars can still be used as a rifle squad with a sniper or mg.
You will have less snipers or bombers, leading to a higher chance of losing them while getting into position.
You will not get access to AA/MG/AT buildings from engineer squad.
Not all maps have interiors to use as cover
Rifle squads have significantly lower DPS than SMG/LMG squads and will lose in a direct firefight when contesting points.
Except they are going to bother you even inside. At very least you are going to have flinch from the blast outside (unless its too far or in bunkers etc.), at worst you are going to die anyway (which is already happening).
That’s a bug, though (at least as far as I know), so let’s ignore that for the sake of argument.
So why do we use hammer to drive a nail if we can use a screwdriver? It can do it after all. The problem is that it’s not as effective.
Fully support this, if it helps to bring more revenue to the devs in some way. Otherwise no. If that would be an issue that prevents 10% of potential user base from playing the game, then I guess it makes sense to address it. If that is something that is going to take out 10% of paying customers, then hell no.
I rather see this game alive and kept being improved as in case of WT, then have it as H&G - player numbers are going down and no significant development done in years, as they have just a handful of dev left.
Fair enough, that is my mistake.
These F2Ps would not be paying either way. But if this stuff is available for free, they will play the game and keep the game itself alive instead of quitting.
No matter how much money the devs have, if nobody wants to play their game, it will still die.
