Get rid of pay to win bullshit

Oh realy? I had such situation less than a week ago.
But if you say that it can’t happen it certainly won’t.

Actually before that situation I didn’t mind that premium give additional squads. I treated it like a quality of life feature and that was a mistake.

If you want to win the most amount of matches, you are forced to have premium time for the extra flexibility it provides.

Yes I can pick bomber squad as part of my 3 squad lineup, but if there are no enemy tanks, I lose out on DPS as bomber squad has lower DPS than LMG or SMG. Premium slots completely bypass that “oh I hope luck is on my side and I actually get to use my counter squads to counter the stuff they’re designed to counter” aspect.

Please do, you are generally annoying and like to get into pointless arguments. I did ignore your post as it’s irrelevant mindering. Making up some hypothetical corner cases proves exactly the opposite of what you are raging about.

Yeah but i dont want to win most ammount of mathches, since its just a game and its a matter of having good time (not that i am skillfull player - not at all). It is not some sort sport.

What @VoyoMayPL and @5762269 are saying is not irrelevant.

To understand how that particular aspect affects gameplay you must do some kind of thought experiment where additional squads provided by premium account are the ONLY factor different between two players. So no quotes like “if you have more skill than you can beat them”, “you should optimize your setup better” etc. This is my post in the same topic from some time ago. It clearly shows how those additional squads can be considered P2W.

I dont think it quite meets the definition of pay to win. The term has become too broadly used a watered down. Lost it’s meaning.

You don’t need a tank or a plane to win. Neither can cap. You don’t need premium squads or weapons. I haven’t used my early access assault squad since I unlocked tech tree assault (there’s no progression with a premium squad so it got benched.

Any premium weapon has a better free version. So pay for a leg up? Sure. Is it gonna make you win? Duck no you still gonna get owned by a guy that’s better than you with a rifle.

If you think all of those are corner cases you clearly have not put in enough time playing the actual game and your opinion towards what provides advantages is not based on proper experience.

Yeah so? The point of the thread is talking about how having or not having premium time gives you a competitive advantage over someone who does not have them. If you are not competitively minded, this thread is meaningless to you as you do not care whether the extra slots exist or not.

5 vehicles max not 3… I m currently rocking 3 planes and 2 tanks and 5 inf squads.
10 squads max it’s always a plus on flexibility as you stated

P2W is a situation when paying gives that particular players advantage that can never be aquired without paying. It’s not “terminator mode” when you win 100% of the matches, but something that makes it a lot easier and is available only for paying players.

Additional squads fit that definition. And for argumentation see my post above. It shows it clearly.

2 slots can be used for either vehicles or infantry, true. Which makes it even worse tbh.

For me, the definition is as followed:

“Anything that can only be obtained, or maintained, using real life money and gives a competitive advantage over not having it, is pay to win”

Premium time can be obtained if you got gold from battle pass, but cannot be maintained, so check.
Premium time’s extra slots give a competitive advantage, so check.
It is pay to win.

I’m not saying it can’t happen, I’m saying it’s irrelevant to how matches go. If can get sniped, by someone who you just camp killed, get mortared and etc. You don’t have to have extra slots for that. In practice you won’t even ever know if someone had premium or not. You might even spend time on deducting it, if you are too bored, jellos, salty or not having fun with a game. That’s why it’s irrelevant.

It’s not pay to win. I understand players wanting to be F2P but nothing in this life is free.

You do have a choice if you don’t want to pay for premium. You can also buy the slots individually. You can buy 2 slots permanently for what it cost for one month premium

I would rather say that out there are games that are so P2W that any game that is only somewhat P2W is seen as not P2W.
It’s something like moving of the Overton window.

Check this one. It’s mostly about rally points (thank you devs for spawn protection removal) but also P2W.

If the devs did you wouldn’t have access to the game.

If your squads are tuned to specific maps, exit the match and join another one. Nobody is going to lose anything from that.

Here

It’s what I m currently playing with.

You can read left corner below.
8 inf squads max or 6 with vehicles. (I m using 5 of I recall correctly)

Right so a plane that has 100+ kills in your 1000 respawns invasion match totally didn’t have a major impact as to how the game went without getting shot down.

If you had a fighter plane to shoot it down, it would never have been able to take out 10% of your respawn tickets.

This is completely irrelevant to the topic. You are putting in time into the game so you are “paying” for it in that sense already.

The directly slots are soooomewhat fine because you can earn gold and buy them to have the effect permanently even while you are a F2P. Premium time slots cannot. Remove the premium time slots and the game would be less P2W.

If the developers wanted to force every player to pay 10$/month to play this game competitive, just give the game a subscription model and remove the F2P aspect. But this game is advertised as being free to play in a competitive sense. As such, there should be nothing that forces the player to pay in order to have a fair fight against people who did pay.

Except you need to gather gold for premium account first to even see option to buy those slots. So it’s just snowball effect - if you already pay you can be more and more powerful.

Didn’t they remove that? I thought they did.
