Get rid of assault, the defender wins 90% of the time and they are almost entirely one sided shit shows. Crap like this is one reason why desertions are high. If DF would give us what they had told us they were going to give us, choosing our maps and game modes then I would never see this shit show mode again. However with the voting BS they are deciding to employ, the shit show mode is still going to have to be endured.
i love assault.
but i do think it could be interesting and make so that points captured by the attackers have a lock down of 1 to 2 minutes ( like confrontation before reaching said points. except the lock down gets applied after being captured so to speak. which from the editor is possible to do ).
allowing assaulters to storm the other point, and if they fail, allow defenders to counter attack.
part of the reason why assault is enjoyable is because is not static around the same area for more than 15 mins.
although with not so coordinated teams it can be not so enjoyable.
I only like it if I am defending as I am rarely on the side that wins when attacking. It is probably the most common desert game for me.
Gasp!
-20% for you, FIEND!
I didn’t desert, however, the new penalties are not going to prevent me if I feel inclined. I have really nothing I need, so penalties, experience, silver ect. are nothing. It almost makes me want to desert just to be a rebel.
Same.
But mostly, I have a life. If my Daughter cries (she’s 3 months old, really) of course I’ll say “fuck that match” (happens often. She’s always hungry…)
And no seething muppet or cheap penalty will convince me to put the game first.
Literal skill issue
And I prefer attacking - if only because “capture 1 point” is a common BP task - different strokes.
A rare beast indeed - gamer with a life!!
My kids are in their 20’s and 30’s - but I remember that reasonably well!
The majority of desertions I have in my three years have probably been mostly trying to play level three Allies and getting punked into a level five Japanese game, which I got to the point as soon as I saw my first level five weapon I was gone. Most others are either losing network, internet or power outage which are far more frequent here in the Philippines. I get games at times, like last night where the network must be bad because it takes four of five seconds to switch to the next soldier, so usually when one dies they all die because they are all dead before I can get switched. I will desert at time if it’s real bad because it’s just so frustrating. Last night it had to be game network because after a game, I logged out, did a quick speed check of my internet and was getting 160 mb per second, which is more then plenty to play online.
Assault is my favourite battlemode.
Defenders get the advantage, sure, but a well-coordinated attack can absolutely destroy any defence.
It’s more about the team you’re in.
That’s the key, and I must get the worst of the worst team mates as I am always in cap points by myself. Someone else said it’s about skill, well, that is true however it’s rare to win if your the only player on your squad with common sense And beside other team mates, my bots certainly are no help as they actively search for ways to die. I think my bots could host an episode of "A thousand ways to die:.
No way…my internet is only 50mbps. You can get faster, but it’s extremely expensive and most of the time it just bottoms out at 100mbps (you never reach the advertised speeds anyway, so it’s lower again).
Damn, that’s a bit suggestive…
Was that speed test all the way to the game server, or just a local node?
I pay for 500 mb per second, but I have never come anywhere close to that number. On good days, I get between 110-160 mbps, but I have days where I get less then 1/2 a mbps, even as low as NO INTERNET! I moved to Dumaguete the first of last month, and my internet is much better here then it was when I was living on Palawan where it would be good one day, and unplayable slow another, but haven’t had that problem yet. I had planned on buying Starlink, but at the moment, don’t need it. Here is my quick on the spot speed test. Excellent right now, nothing to complain about and this is how fast it was last night when my network was dreadfully slow.
“Seething Muppet”…
I think he’s referring to me…
My kids are teenagers, so he has it all to come yet.
Bless his little heart.
I have one son age 32 and the other is 19.
They grow up so quick!..
I haven’t seen either one of them in two years since I moved to the Philippines, but I will go back to the States within the next year to visit…If I can afford the plane ticket. It was way to high the last time I checked a year ago around $3,000 round trip.
This is where I say, within my moderator status, let’s keep the thread on topic.
But if anyone here wants to have a personal go against me, my PM is always open. I’m pretty sure we can hash out your prevalent insecurities out pretty quickly.
Isn’t it?
