Germany attackers in Normandy

If Normandy was occupied by Germany during the allied invasion, then shouldn’t that mean that the Allied team should mostly play as the attackers for Invasion game modes?

After taking a break from the game for three weeks, I started playing again and of the 10 matches that I played as Axis in Normandy, eight of them were playing as the attackers.

And why is Conquest the primary game mode for the map Ver-Sur-Mer?
If it’s not conquest, the next mode is assault…

There’s only two beach landing maps, and one of them I rarely ever play.
Whenever Ver-Sur-Mer comes on the rotation, it’s either conquest or assault.
Most of the time I quit conquest matches immediately, because the matches are consolidated into smaller areas of a given map, which is often nothing more than explosive spamming from aircraft, tanks, artillery, and infantry… (whoever has the most human players, wins the game).

So you only have two beach landing maps, and one of them is rarely played.
The other one isn’t even a real beach from D-Day.
The ocean is flat, and there aren’t any waves in the water.
You can even see the reflection of the handful of ships that are sitting a few hundred yards off the beach…

During D-Day, over 7,000 ships and landing craft were utilized during the operation (and the ocean was NOT calm)…

But on your “D-Day” map, there’s what? Maybe a dozen ships out in the water?
And the water is so calm, that pilots are known to crash into the water (soley because they aren’t paying attention to their altimeter and believe they are higher above the water than they are).

The last match I played on Ver-Sur-Mer, it was conquest, and it was raining…
And off in the horizon I could see the beach and the ocean…
Lightning flashed, and I could see the ships reflections across the FLAT water.

Also, please fix the Bipods for machine guns being mounted in windows.

I played the Factory map for the first time (in Normandy), and I climbed to the third floor of the main building.
Once we cleared the first objective (because we were Axis attackers), I tried to use my machine gun in a window to reign hell down on the infantry who were at ground level (near the next objective)…
However , I could not aim my gun down towards ground level. I could only aim straight, left, right, or up.
Your machine gun bipods and weapon mounting needs some serious re-working.

Also, the gun-sights for the Axis HMG needs some attention.

And your soldier custimization is still super buggy. I posted a bug report 88 days ago, and the issue still isnt fixed.

I have over 100 customization tickets, and I haven’t spent them because the axis uniforms for Normandy are absolutely awful. You don’t even have matching camo helmets for the camo jacket and pants.
And how many variations of the same grey, dark grey, black german helmets do we need?

And why do AT soldier rockets not have lethal splash damage vs infantry?
For example, coming across a sniper in a building, and using the AT soldier’s rocket to kill him with shrapnel and debris?

Here are some historic photos of what the the invasion actually looked like.

On D-Day map allies are always atracking. On rest of maps it doesn’t really matter. There were a lot of small counter offensives when nazis were trying to defend Normandy. :tipping_hand_man:

The campaign is called Normandy, not D-Day.

well considering I’ve played like 1,500 matches in Normandy, I only took the time to write about it because I have noticed a significant shift in this campaign. In the context of the Allies playing defense, more than they do offense.

Yes, of course there were counter-offensives, because the Germans were trying to repel the invaders.
But considering the tremendous surge of allied forced that landed during the greatest beach landing operation ever orchestrated, the axis forces were constantly being pushed back, until eventually retreating from Normandy and France (entirely).

Knowing this, you would think that the majority of invasion matches would be allies on attackers and germans as the defenders.

Just like stalingrad… the Allies are dominantly the defenders.
Or Moscow… Allies on defense…
Or Berlin… Germans on defense…
Tunisia can be 50-50
Pacific the allies would mostly be attackers.

So why am I playing as the German attackers 80-90% of the time in Normandy?
It makes about as much sense as this new implementation.

I don’t even have harmonization mode turned on… Yet, they have a swastika that’s missing 4 pieces.
Why do they even have the red flag, the white circle, and a black X? All they are doing is calling attention to the absurdity.

See look…

All they did was remove 4 lines, but kept the core of the swastika…

Yet… It’s okay to have the Communist star…

Thank you Captain Obvious.
Did you read the title to this post?

Because defense is far easier. And since nobody plays mericans, devs probably trying to balance it with this way (and not only). It’s same for Pacific now btw.

Allies on Stalingrad really aren’t so often defenders. Stalingrad is pretty much balanced in this matter.

Yeah, it’s completely disgusting. It’s even more hilarious on Berlin. They would do way better to completely get rid off these flags.

I’ve only played a couple matches of Staligrad. I have no idea how the teams are balanced in that campaign.
I’m just saying, from a historical standpoint, you would expect the find the allies as the attackers in normandy, just like you expect to see the allies attacking in Berlin.

Why not make the germans the attackers 90% of the time in Berlin, and defenders 90% of the time in Moscow?

Yes. if they are going to censor the swastika, they did a terrible job at it. They could literally have put nothing on the tail of aircraft (except the aircraft’s paint), and it would be more effective than half of a swastika.

My name is Sheeple.

I haven’t been here for three weeks so I decided to create a topic where I dump everything I could think of.

That’s the only explanation that would make sense. To give people a chance to play offense/defense for their given faction.

But this is only taking the game further away from any form of historical accuracy. It’s simply becoming a FPS shooter with a WW2 theme. Nothing more, nothing less. History is irrelevant.

No, your name is Forlorn, and you’re a useful idiot. You said so yourself, in your diary entry. So don’t even waste your time.

Not as much as planned merging of campaigns. But that’s probably healthiest thing that could happen for this game. Playerbase isn’t really that big to fill 6 seperate campaigns properly. It’s kinda sad ngl but I think it’s nothing horrific. I think this game has pretty bright future. At least for me.

It’s definitely a step in the right direction (from a business perspective).
But they really need to be careful with the direction that they take this game (a year from now and beyond).

If they deviate too far away from any form of historical accuracy… then another game is going to come along and take it’s place. There’s way too many FPS shooters in the gaming market, and if DF takes Enlisted down a path that is not what they have originally marketed the game to be, they will lose much more than they’ve ever gained.

There’s is already HLL that does way better job in this matter. I think enlisted is more casual game tho. So it’s not that big par of deal.

One of the single-best decisions they can make, to fix the broken matchmaking and low player count, is to incorporate continuous lobbies that take players from one match, to the next.

If they allowed players to stay in lobby, this will allow people to play match-after-match with each other.
People can come-and-go as they please, and there would be a constant pool of players who enter games to fill empty seats.

This would remedy the problem with matches that have 80-100% human players on one team, and only 30-50% human players on the other team. This simple implementation, would eliminate all the matches that are only 50-70% full.

And by allowing players to stay in the lobby, there would be a 60-90 second idle period for players to review stats, quick-swap gear/loadout, and also implement a map-voting feature that allows players a choice of 2-3 different maps/game modes.

Problem solved.

Well after spending enough time on this forum, a random person would probably not view this game as casual or friendly.

For example: How many posts have you read, where somebody has complained about their teammates for not contributing.
-Not building rally points
-Not pushing the objective
-Sniping when they should be up front with an assualt rifle
-Grey zone tanking
-Pilots who aren’t good
-PC players who hate console players
-Etc.

If the game was casual, why are so many people so concerned about what their teammates are doing?

Do you really think casuals are visiting forums and things like that? Every game has tryhards and decent players. But I still think majority of enlisted playerbase are just casuals.
There’s like 10 loud guys here on forum that consistently btching about nearly anything related to this game. Is it somewhat relevant? Nah, I don’t think so.
