German rifle grenade launcher

Hi, I would like to address a few shortcomings regarding rifle grenade launcher ( g.gr.ger.42 / schiessbecher)

1. deployment animation

  • the animation is bad because the bolt must be loosened, then it is disassembled, it is placed on the main rifle and it is folded and tightened. Not that it just sticks to the barrel, it can’t be

2.types of grenades
-There are two basic types: HE (g.sprgr.30) which was against the infantry .
and HEAT (g.pzgr.40) which was against armored targets and was able to pierce up to 90mm armor.
But in the game there is only a HEAT grenade model but with broken HE properties

3. loading

  • In real life, after inserting a grenade into a grenade launcher, a bullet with a wooden bullet must still be inserted into the chamber of the rifle, but there is no charge animation in the game, even if you have fired all the ammunition

4. grenade launcher sight
-There is a well-modeled grenade launcher sight (g.gr.ger. Libelle) in the game, but I don’t understand why it can’t be used and aim with it, as it is very difficult or even impossible to hit at a greater distance only through normal sights.

And that’s probably all from me, thank you for reading this and I’m sorry for my English.

It would be nice but points 1 and 3 are problematic.
Some players complain that RGL is already too slow to use, adding even longer animation before shot won’t help that.

I mean, if we removed the issue of 1 and just had it attached, then animated the rifle being single-loaded each shot with the propellant charge, I think it’d be fine. The deployment time is the real issue.

It should be able to be shot, accurate out to 100-150 meters or so still, with regular ammunition. Then press the alternate fire button to load a rifle grenade? Ejecting the round in the chamber, single load the charge, set the grenade in the cup. Would add maybe a half-second to a second to the animation for the grenades, but take out the attachment/disattachment of the grenade launcher on the loading time. (at the expense of long-range accuracy and normal sights use, of course.)

The M1 carbine has the same issue, though it should be a magazine swap for the propellant charges. The USSR meanwhile has a grenade launcher that is shoot-through, and thus uses regular ammunition.

The US and USSR also have anti-tank HEAT rifle grenades, but I’m not exactly sure how you’d implement them vs the HE ones in terms of button layout.
