Mine are probably Lee Enfield (10 round magazine is very nice), Ross rifle (good sights, fast ROF), and Mosin M91/30 (good sights, fun to use).
I personally suck with the VG 2 (I just don’t like the sights and the gun feels bad in my opinion). I also don’t like the m41 carcano or the 1917 Enfield (I don’t like the sights on either, personal preference). The carcano “magazine” system can screw you if you hav 1 or 2 rounds in each clip.
However the developers have done a very good job in my opinion with the bolt action rifles; even in Normandy, I have 70% of my soldiers using them. I like most of the bolt action rifles especially in Moscow.
The good old Mosin M1891/30 is one of my top favorite bolt actions alongside the Kar98k while M38 and M44 Mosins are part of the top favorite bolt actions too.
Lee Enfield and the Carcanos(I like the 7.35mm the most) are at the mid point.
Least favorite bolts uh Springfield M1903 where sure it hits hard but the iron sights are just terrible same with the VG 2 especially with the cycling animation.
I would like a special mention to the Kriegsmodell since its rare to see WWII games actually include this particular model of the Kar98k as the regular Kar98k which is the wartime era was the one that’s usually represented in WWII games. Sure the Pre-War model Kar98k gets shown in some but still the Kar98k story is interesting.
Lee Enfield No.4 Mk.1 is the objective best answer. However, I’m partial towards the Ross Mk III Rifle a. because I’m Canadian, b. because it just feels good to play in game. I also like the Vz 24 in Moscow, as well as the M44 Carbine in Berlin.
For least favorite, I’m going to say the M1907 Carbine and the Kar 98 Kreigsmodel. I don’t know why, but something just feels off about them. It’s kind of hard to describe, but I just don’t preform as well with them, and don’t like them that much.
bolt-action is fortunately the most balanced weapon in this game after AA gun. Imagine if the first weapon new player get is broken and unbalanced like some smgs
I love Carcano mod 38. due to very fats bolt speed and sights of Carcano m1918 feels very accurate and easy to aim.
I hate VG 2 and Springfield the most

and uh, the last carcano you unlock is quite nice.
Most of the Mosin/Nagants are kind of eh, they don’t do great damage and they miss sometimes,
early carcanos have some accuracy issues but are fine overall. Starting caracano sniper is better than the kar98k versions though, because the better handling is worth it when you already have the sniper accuracy boost.
Kar98k is a slow firing gun, but its accuracy is impeccable and it does great damage, so its one of my favorite bolt actions, certainly my favorite starting gun.
PzB is a sad panda that I think gets somewhat unfairly punished compared to the absurdly heavy PTRD that somehow fires faster.
