Game style change

This may sound heretic, I’ll try to explane with my poor english. The only thing I don’t ike about the game is that epic battles of WW2 are played like modern non-stop run-and-shoot games like Fortnite and CS. As the Enisted game is realistic as possible, the player is not supposed to waste its life so easily. In real battle you don’t run across the enemy forces, like in the park. You are trying to survive till the end of war. You plan your movements, you wait, you act carefully. You hold your life with your teeths.
So I think that some system, encouraging cautious play will actually add more tension and pleasure to the game. I guess some kind of increasing delay of respawn after the 5-th time for example.

Imo an award for staying alive (as infantry) would be better than a penalty for dying.

May be. I think the players who get bored of hiding and stalking will neglect the bonus, but can’t be sure. Some test playing will show the preferred way.

That’s because video games are still just a games, lol. This isn’t some kind of historical and realistic simulation.

Enlisted has completely different playstyle than CS or fortnite lol.

this game has come long way from being kind of realistic, in CBT you had limited respawns, friendly fire etc. doubt it that enlisted devs are ever gonna return back.

They might have had similar thoughts and approach, but it didn’t work out apparently.
So yeah.

You can still play coutionusly though! It is pretty much effective as is.
Personaly this is the best feeling when i catch up an ambush on a run n gun player squad

it’s not about dumping what’s good about video games, it’s more of a way to make the gameplay more immersive, more cinematic! Why would you want a generic fps shooter if you could have a truly movie-like experience.

even right now people do impressions of classic war movie clips, and it look awesome, like nowhere else! MAKE IT MORE

I must admit, soldiers running around randomly everywhere is a very off-putting part of the game for me, I would much prefer if the AI hid behind obstacles more often to make it look more authentic.

Of course, without giving up the fun you can get from playing a shooter. It’s just about making it fancier.

It’s possible that developers want this and are working on it, because making something like this happen is probably unimaginably difficult.

I agree with you, but I still disagree with OP.

As long as I remember, enlisted never was like this. It’s just way too arcade(ish) in concept.
Imagine the painful grind if everyone tried to survive as long as possible. No exps for anyone and way longer matches.
Such a gameplay just doesn’t suits enlisted.

of course, human waves were literally used in ww2 so it’s actaully accurate, lol.
If anything, there should be an evil officer on your back shooting you if you’re not moving, that would fix campers for good :joy:

it would be indeed painful, this is the thing i hate lonefighters for, well, i do like lonefighters because players are not running like headless chickens but you cant move without being shot by sniper 200m away either. So yeah.

Basically what would fix the whole thing is AI that wouldn’t be rushing everywhere in the open, they are abosulety brain dead, they spin, move left right back forward, shooting them with bolt action is kinda hard because of it too, they’re avoiding bullets like matrix.

I agree.
Enlisted is atm basically babysitting simulator at some capacity. Very often I am just trying to find safe spot for them, press X and then circling around that area.

sometimes i wonder if it’s because of complexity of the AI or developers actually want AI to be like that, so that there’s ‘more action’ going on, if AI would hid successfully the game would definitely look emptier.
Time will tell…

Or rather complexity of spaghetti code. I still remember how they shamelessly used it as excuses for not giving engineer to old premium squads.
So I wouldn’t be too surprised if this was the case as well.

Imo they want AI this way.
It just makes sense from their perspective. Ppl with little to no skill can just shoot clueless targets and feel good. And it’s a big target group.

that’s what i’ve been thinking,

i still have hope devs are gonna prove us wrong though.

OR at least keep them clueless targets but make them fit scenery better.
i would actually want that more.

Imo we should have a separate “realistic” mode. Basically tommy’s mod like scale with better AI and overall a bit more hardcore.

given how fast this game is leaning towards war thunder mechanics i can safely assume that realistic battles will come at some point.

I like the idea but I doubt it until it becomes popular, it is a niche for us lovers of realism.
It would be interesting to implement it in the form of a mod to see how it works in custom games.
As I am a lover of immersion and as I have already written in this forum, I would add the following to your idea:

-The option to block graphic and sound parameters for everyone at the console level, (to enjoy the graphic quality with peace of mind and not be forced to use ulq) and include as many players as possible.

-The option to use hardcore with the minimal hud is also blocked for everyone.

-Detect the user’s screen resolution and lock the fov so that everyone plays with the same fov regardless of the size of their monitor, the same with the gamma, and the user’s fps locked at 60 as a standard (optional).

I would call this mode hyper realistic hardcore or ultra hardcore or something like that

So you mean like this suggestion I posted a while back?

Yes.
Also what heppened to your original account?

I’m not sure. After the forum switch over, it changed it to this on me. My GUESS is that it was changed for console players due to issues logging in and tracking games played.

It doesn’t even let me access my old posts from my Topics screen, which is really annoying.
